I have to admit, it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I first watched the film Chocolat, thanks to Netflix of course! To be honest I can’t believe I hadn’t watched it before. I fell hook, line and sinker for it’s romantic plot and serene location. The vibes from the film translate so perfectly into this wedding ideas editorial today and Brympton House was the perfect setting seeing as some of the movie’s scenes were shot there.
This shoot of course features artisan luxury chocolates, but also some beautiful styling. Think luxe tablescapes, with tables adorned with bright opulent blooms, dripping candles and gold tablewear. The bouquet has me all aflutter with it’s colour pop tones and whimsical shape. Then of course there was the bridal look, which is timeless yet modern in equal measure. Keep an eye out for romantic stationery and a cake featuring delicate dragonflies. Everything was captured perfectly on film by Liz Baker Fine Art Photography, wow.
Summer Chocolat Wedding Ideas
“Warm, joyful and honest, this spring/summer inspiration has a relaxed, old-world European feel. “Chocolat” (the movie released in 2000) featured some scenes shot on location at Brympton House, which was once described as “the most incomparable house in Britain”. The movie’s main character Vianne – and her love of chocolate – sparked our inspiration. Luxurious chocolate truffles in coordinating shades of burgundy, caramel and duck-egg blue were made by hand just a few miles away by The Chocolate Society. A decadent twist served at your cocktail hour, or a mouthwatering treat in favour boxes for your guests. A riot of floral colour adorned our table on the terrace, with elegant classic gold cutlery and beaded chargers offset by the simple farmhouse furniture. Blush David Austin roses jostled with vibrant poppies, anemones, delphiniums and ranunculus, with delicate pops of purple from the snakeshead fritillary and grape hyacinth. A second more relaxed table was laid on the grass in the old orchard with a touch of whimsy provided by the blue crystal goblets and navy velvet scatter cushions. There the tiered cake – intricately decorated with gold leaf dragonflies, bees and blush sugar flowers – was hung from a branch on its very own swing. Our bride waited in excitement in the walled garden – preparing herself to walk the outdoor aisle to the temple – its brickwork brought to life again with a lush, verdant installation. These images were all shot on real film for its stunning, warm and vibrant tones.”
