Well, here I am, with our first Wednesday Wedding Wonders post since APRIL! I want to send out virtual hugs and love all round to all of you, I hope you and your loved ones are all safe and well. The past three months have certainly been an emotional roller-coaster, with anxiety about COVID19 in terms of being under lock down, ensuring my family and friends are safe and keeping Whimsical Wonderland Weddings going strong. Thankfully we are all fine here. My youngest little boy W is in reception class and has been back to school, not an easy decision to make by any means. However he is so much happier and I am so pleased we sent him back, I didn’t realise how much the lock down had impacted him until he went back. My eldest son A who is 10, is not back to school much to his sadness. I am really feeling for him as he is missing school, his friends and clubs/hobbies dearly. I really hope he can get back to school safely in the Autumn and can see his friends again.
Whimsical Wonderland Weddings was on a reduced schedule and I decided to give all of our sponsors a three month payment holiday due to the pandemic. This isn’t an easy thing as a small business (number of employees = 1! ME) to offer however I hope that is has helped our treasured WWW family during this very hard time financially for the wedding industry. For the first time ever also, I am running a special offer for both our current and new banner advertisers for the next three months, as hopefully, we ease out of the lock down restrictions and weddings can start to resume. I am beginning to bring the schedule up a notch, however, as the summer holidays arrive things may be tricky in terms of childcare, so do bare with me if we aren’t quite posting as much as we once were. I am working on it though ☺️ Also during April Whimsical Wonderland Weddings turned 10 years old! I didn’t get a chance to announce or celebrate what is a huge achievement for me personally, but I thought I’d give it a shout out today. Happy birthday WWW!
COVID19 & Your Wedding
So what’s happening? Well I just want to send my heart out to those of you that have cancelled and postponed your weddings. It is well and truly awful to go through this situation. I myself have cancelled my own wedding many years ago, albeit under different circumstances, but I know it’s heartbreaking when you loose that dream you have built up. However, hang in there, still hope and dream as it will happen I promise. It’s just a matter of when not if.
If you didn’t already know the government have released a further easing of wedding restrictions but this applies to ceremonies only. You can find all the details here. Don’t forget you can still #marrynowpartylater if this is something that appeals to you. We married alone and partied a few weeks later and it was awesome, magical and so much fun. I will be keeping everything crossed together with you that the end of 2020/2021 will be oh so epic! Your celebrations are going to be so special.
Talking of COVID19 and your wedding, did you see our article on Monday with Noemi Bellante, Italian wedding planner from Milano? We discussed destination weddings during the pandemic, specifically in Italy. Hopefully this will prove useful for those of you looking to marry abroad.
What Have I Been Up To?
Well, it’s been a juggling act of working behind the scenes at WWW and home-schooling our two little boys for sure. G has been working from home too which has been really nice in some ways, no commute and a helping hand around the house has been great. Not to mention hugs when I had down moments. I mentioned in the last news post that I think I had COVID19, I think I did but I have no way of knowing. It took around a month I think to feel back to normal and regain my energy levels and I am feeling good now thankfully. We’ve done loads of walking and some bike rides too. We have been working really hard in our garden removing conifers, planting lots of flowers and vegetables too. I celebrated my birthday with a takeaway from the pub and a zoom quiz with my mates, which was a real laugh. I also bought some new games for our Nintendo Switch and we have loved them, Overcooked 2 and Zelda. I’ve never played Zelda but I am officially hooked, most nights I can be found playing it with G. We’ve also binged watched some great programmes; The Last Dance (Netflix), Formula 1: Drive to Survive (Netflix), Hunted (Channel4), Normal People (BBCiPlayer) to name a few off the top of my head. We don’t have much planned for the coming weeks, but we are actually going on holiday! Can’t quite believe I am saying it. We booked a week in Cornwall before lock down which is now going ahead. I am nervous to be honest, but I hope we can have a relaxing socially distant and safe week together. During this week I will not be active on social media/emails, but there are some lovely features all scheduled in.
