I just want to take a moment to firstly speak about the horrific attack in Manchester this week. It’s been in my mind constantly since I heard the news on Tuesday morning and I am sure you join me in my feelings of profound sadness. My heart aches for everyone who has been affected. As a mother of two young boys, I cannot even begin to understand how the affected families are feeling right now, my heart, prayers and love go out to them all. Giving us hope though are those incredible heroes, those that have helped others in their hour of need and who are continuing to do so now too. I will be lighting a candle and taking a moment to pause and reflect this week. Love will triumph. Always.
This week has been super busy both behind the scenes and personally. We took a weekend break away with the kids which was so lovely, many fun moments and memories were made. A break that we all needed, to have some R&R and quality time together. A’s room is really taking shape, with the woodwork almost complete and the new column radiator now installed. Hopefully the carpet will go down this weekend and he will be moving back in. Talking of the weekend, I am looking forward to a sunny three day weekend with my family. No plans sometimes make for the best of times.
Thank you to everyone that applied to be our new intern writer! I will be reviewing applications this week. You still have time to pop over an application by tomorrow morning if you are interested in joining our team.

Working Towards Eradicating Poverty with Wedding Competitions
Ela Aksoy, the founder of Bochic Weddings and Events, will be volunteering for 3 months in Sierra Leone, West Africa, to help disadvantaged young people. She is fundraising to support International Citizen Service (ICS) and Y Care International in sending UK volunteers overseas to work on sustainable development projects in some of the world’s poorest communities. Their ultimate aim is to end extreme poverty and the money raised will contribute to projects that support this goal. ICS volunteers work together in small teams over three months to tackle social exclusion and poverty in some of the world’s poorest communities. Ela will be working on a range of projects that help young men and women within local communities. This could include running workshops to help young people develop skills for employment, building schools in rural areas, engaging young people in global and national issues and more.
Ela, of Bochic Weddings and Events, has collaborated with the following suppliers to offer these fantastic prizes! It’s a ‘lucky dip’ wedding competition, whereby brides and grooms can enter by donating £3 to her JustGiving page and quoting the prize they would like. Plus following the suppliers involved on Facebook and Instagram.
