I am on a personal mission to step out of my comfort zone and am trying to live by the “feel the fear and do it anyway” mantra right now. I am fed up of letting the fear beat me, so hello more confident me, with so much more fun to be had in the next few months. This also means stepping up my Instagram game and getting back into Instagram stories in a personal way, and perhaps even in our feed too. Of course that also depends on whether you actually want to see more of my life behind the scenes! We shall see how this goes over the coming weeks. With that in mind, a heads up folks, we are doing a poll on Instagram stories on the ‘post wedding blues’ today. I really want to start confronting more real life wedding worries and concerns, and really make sure we are being as helpful and useful as possible during the wedding planning process for you guys. It’s what we’re here for after all! So if you could join in, that’d be so awesome. Also let me know any other issues you have that you’d like real practical advice and guidance on and we can see what we can do to assist.

It’s been another hectic week, but also a lovely one. The weekend was jammed packed with fun times, we had a trip to Aylett Nurseries in St. Albans on Saturday. We wanted to pay a trip to their Dahlia/Autumn festival, being a huge Dahlia fan and aspiring green fingered grower, I was eager to see their amazing Dahlia field. The sun was shining, the flowers in full bloom and my heart was full. We also went on a date night on Saturday night, for the first time, in well, possibly six months, for our three year anniversary last Tuesday. We went to the cinema to see a movie and it really made a change to head out on our own, it was lovely. It makes me realise that we really need to make the time to organise more time alone, not just sat in front of the box watching The Bodyguard. (Although we just watched the first episode and we’re hooked already!) On Sunday we met with friends at a local vintage steam fair, which we try to visit every year. Again the weather surprised us and it was lovely and warm, the boys loved the old fashioned rides and all the steam engines. Before we then headed back home to catch up on X Factor. Do autumn weekends get any better? I think next weekend has a lot to live up to. But we already have some great things booked in so I can’t wait! I hope you all have a really wonderful week, for now I leave you with these glorious weddings and some news from one of our treasured suppliers.

FROM travel-inspired pieces to personalised hearts, there is something for every happy couple in the new cake topper collection from luxury wedding stationers norma&dorothy.

Taking inspiration from the natural world, the extensive 57-strong collection is perfectly designed to suit a wide range of wedding styles, featuring everything from lush botanicals and woodland animals as well as contemporary geometrics.

norma&dorothy creative designer Grace Sherriff said: “Couples put so much time and thought into choosing the theme of their wedding, so not surprisingly they want to be able to see that theme throughout their big day, as well as the build-up. Adding a cake topper collection was the next natural step. It means the centrepiece of the wedding celebrations perfectly complements the rest of the couple’s wedding stationery.”

The cake toppers incorporate modern typefaces with trend-led colours and finishes for a beautiful collection.

Happy wedding Wednesday xo Lou
