Ready for summer fun and lots of love? Great, because it’s time to share Katie and Joe’s stunning The Venue Bowers Mill wedding in Yorkshire.
Their day had a beautifully industrial feel thanks to the old mill venue, which paired with rustic styling looked sensational. I really love all the candles, greenery and peach florals. Then there was Katie’s vintage-look gown and Joe’s dapper navy suit. Didn’t they both look amazing!?
From the sweeties to the romantic flower arch and the beautiful embroidery, do enjoy their day in full below.
Thanks ever so much to Louise Barry for sharing these utterly wonderful captures of such a special celebration.
Kirkstall Abbey on Christmas Day 2019. Joe tried to get down on one knee but I told him to get up then cried!
We wanted a low-key wedding (as in nothing super traditional) somewhere in Yorkshire, that fitted our personalities and was big enough for our large families and groups of friends (135 people).
We loved the fact that our venue was in an old mill building in a valley. It felt very Yorkshire which we both wanted.
We wanted it all to be in one place (no separate ceremony/wedding breakfast venues), with a rustic feel and nice touches of things we like. Sweet table, homemade chocolates by Katie, table names were bars and pubs from both of our lives.

First dance, Joe’s mum missing us cutting the cake so us having to pretend to do it again, Maid of Honour’s speech, friends newborn dancing with headphones, Katie lip syncing to Westlife’s Flying Without Wings with her maid of honour, mum and cousins, baby Guinness shots.
Everyone says it, and they said it to us, but think about yourselves! This is your day and it’s about what you want, not your guests. They’ll love anything you choose.
Just sublime.
Katie and Joe, thank you both ever so much for sharing your The Venue Bowers Mill wedding story with us.
