Even though this gorgeous Upthorpe Wood wedding ideas shoot wasn’t created with Christmas in mind, there’s something about the stars and fairy lights that are giving me festive feels today.
Brought to us by Emily Tyler Photography this set of dreamy images demonstrate that woodland, rustic style venues can totally suit a luxe and glam style too. From the gorgeous florals and bridal beauty to the sensational, cosy styling I am in love.
Think stylish outfits, exquisite stationery, unique accessories, a sleek cake and even a magical naked tipi set up outdoors. Wow indeed.
Myself (Emily Tyler Photography) and Emily Chantal, our makeup artist, dreamt up the idea of combining luxe styling for our bride and groom and pairing it with a rustic woodland venue. So often you see a typical woodland bohemian wedding and while thereβs nothing wrong with that at all (quite the opposite!), we wanted to show you can mix styles and create something beautiful.
With our bride and groom looking so Hollywood glam, we wanted to include pops of subtle celestial notes to tie in. It was really important for the venue to keep its rustic, relaxed charm so we decided on indoor banqueting tables with neutral linens, black plates to contrast and hints of celestial vibes in the cake, stationery and the incredible veil.
The beautiful whites, greens and pops of peach florals tied the tables all together. Larkspur Floral Design said the table flowers and bouquet was designed to be a unique statement for the character and personality of the model and her dress. Harmonising fresh and dried varieties, luxurious yet relaxed.
Our models short hair was perfect for giving inspiration to brides with shorter locks.

There are so many stunning hairstyles perfect for those with shorter locks. However there is under current that you should or be expected to grow your hair in order to have bridal worthy hairstyle. This myth is simply not true! I wanted to create a sprinkle of wedding hair inspiration for those of you going short.
The makeup was designed by Emily to be soft, romantic, delicate and luxe. She did an incredible job, our bride was truly glowing. She switched up the makeup for more of an evening look to coincide with a dress change and added a cool, red lip.
We made full use of the variety of spaces Upthorpe Wood has to offer, including the gorgeous raised deck area in the woodland complete with light tent and bohemian seating area and the cosy, atmospheric barn. Array and Smoke and Wildwood worked as a dream team to create our incredible spaces.
It was really important for us to give each of the creatives involved as much free reign as possible, and we are over the moon with how it came together.
Just so cosy and romantic. Wouldn’t the naked tipi look amazing in a back garden too? Swoon!
Massive thanks to the incredibly talented team below for sharing these Upthorpe Wood wedding ideas with us.
