UK Destination Wedding Inspiration in Pretty Pink

Ever considered the idea of a UK destination wedding? If not let me explain just why today’s creative team (Hannah McClune Photography and Daphne & George) decided to host a destination Mediterranean vibe wedding inspiration shoot.

With the COVID19 pandemic causing havoc on travel plans, destination weddings for UK couples may well have changed some what. But this wonderful shoot shows that you can have a destination style wedding day right here in the UK. Think about pastel colour palettes, delicate florals and fine art wedding photography too. The food is always really important at a wedding and quite possibly even more so at destination weddings. And so I am thrilled to see WWW recommended wedding supplier Total Hospitality showing off their delicious cuisine in Mediterranean style. The bride and groom look stunning, I adore the lavender adorned cake and delicate stationery adorns a table perfectly styled.

UK Destination Wedding

Whilst my style at Daphne & George is typically suited to that of quintessentially British countryside, sometimes, and particularly with the recent heatwave, it’s nice to inject some summer and Mediterranean vibes into a wedding design. Many couples love the idea of a destination wedding and particularly around the Mediterranean, though, with the COVID crisis this year, many travels are on hold. If however, a venue has the most gorgeous outside space, then why not take advantage of that and the glorious British countryside and host a British destination wedding.

Silchester Farm is one such venue and I wanted to design a warm toned wedding that would blend the British countryside with a Mediterranean feel, which is where the outside dining came in, beautiful grazing platters from Total Hospitality and stunning florals from Green Parlour. Informal dining was key and a laid back luxury, boho look was achieved by using rustic trestle tables from Silchester Farm, cross back chairs and paired back tableware with metallic hints in the charger plates and cutlery from Crystal Hire. Hints of colour were brought together in the water glasses, the linens from Silk & Willow and the stunning vintage pinky purple roses and signature flowers from Green Parlour. Abundant grazing boards were placed on the table so guests can feed themselves, with individual platters or sharing platters which are ideal for a family to share.

Our couple fitted beautifully in the landscape, with the bride, who is also A Finishing Touch hair & make-up in a floral-laced overlay, golden Enzoani gown by Little London Brides and the groom in a laid back shirt and trouser suit of his own.

The stationery suite by White Olive Design was of paired back rustic elegance. Using textured paper, metallic and floral seals and simple font, the design worked so well alongside the tablescape and wider design brief.

Love from Lila produced our cake; a three tiered beauty, trimmed with lavender wreaths, enhancing a Med feel but one that is typically British and works beautifully with the gardens and wildflower meadows at Silchester Farm.

Intimate weddings may be here for the foreseeable and our ceremony space has that intimate feel down to a tea. It’s surrounded by a willow wall and archway and has the backdrop of a pond within the meadow. The perfect outdoor ceremony space should you wish to get to marry outside.

Silchester Farm offers a barn venue, which is perfect for that boho and rustic wedding, but alongside it’s stunning gardens and wildflower meadow and paddocks, offers the most wonderful and quintessentially British outside space, perfect for bringing that Mediterranean and destination wedding feel to it.
