Tinakilly Country House Wedding
We wanted our wedding day to be true to ourselves and have a genuine and relaxed atmosphere for our friends and family. The gorgeous warm weather allowed us to have the most beautiful ceremony in the gardens, as well as drinks after. It was the perfect summer garden party.
Meredith and Conan
What a delight it is to be joined by WWW readers Meredith and Conan today, who were wed on the 1st September 2018 at Tinakilly Country House in Ireland. Their day was a joy filled, loved up and very pretty celebration. They were firstly married in an outdoor ceremony within the gardens framed by a bountiful flower arch of dreams. They then celebrated in the country house, adding minimal decoration and personal touches.
I just adore the flowers which included blousy pink peonies not to mention the stunning semi naked cake. I also love that Meredith wore her high school debutante, dress didn’t she look amazing? Conan opted for a very sharp bespoke suit in blue, very stylish indeed.
Thanks ever so much to Conor Brennan Photography for sharing with us these very special images.
The Proposal
Our hotel balcony overlooking Piazza Bellini, in Naples, Italy.
The Vision
A genuine and beautiful atmosphere full of love and familiarity. We wanted our day to reflect not only our love for each other but our love for all of our friends and family!
The Planning Process
We live in Vienna, Austria, but were determined to get married in Ireland near the groom’s hometown in Wicklow. We wanted to pick a venue where most of the wedding planning is co-ordinated onsite by a wedding team, and we also wanted to pick a venue with accommodation so that our international friends and family could spend the night if they wanted – especially for the bride’s friends and family who were travelling to Ireland from all over the United States. We also wanted a venue that would be available for “Day 2” celebrations so that the party could continue the day after the wedding, which was really special for all of the international guests who had travelled to Ireland. As an ideal venue, Tinakilly House ticked all the right boxes for us, and their specialized wedding planning team were phenomenal! We communicated everything we envisioned for the big day and the planning was transformed into reality – truly the most beautiful day of our lives!

Your Outfits & Accessories
The Groom: A classic, bespoke suit from “Sturm” haberdasher in Vienna, Austria.
The Bride: I decided from very early on that I did not want to buy a new dress, as I had kept my high school ‘debutante’ dress from the year 2000. Honestly, I think I knew that I would wear the dress again for my wedding someday… Amazingly, it still fit!
The Venue
Tinakilly House, Wicklow, Ireland
The Readings & Music
The ceremony music was performed by friend of the groom, Caoimhe Barry. Songs included “This Must Be the Place” and “Sea of Love”.
The brothers of the bride shared 2 readings: “Scaffolding” by Seamus Heaney and 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 and 13.
Your Photographer
Our awesome photographer was Conor Brennan!
The Cake
A simple semi-frosted 2-tiered cake with 1.) Bailey’s sponge and 2.) chocolate with vanilla buttercream icing from Amazing Cakes in Bray, Wicklow.
The Details & Décor
Fresh floral décor, summer garden party and vintage vibes – epitomized by Tinakilly House.
The Honeymoon
We rented a camper van for 2 1/2 weeks, starting in San Francisco and driving up the Pacific Coast Highway, camping along the way in state and national parks, and ending our trip in Seattle!
Memorable Moments
Honestly, the whole day was an absolute dream… all the love in one day in one place, with friends and family from near and far! We were overjoyed.
Advice For Other Couples
Be true to yourselves and don’t spend too much time on Pinterest or Instagram. The vision you have for your day should be about what you want and not what your followers/social media wants! ☺
Credit Where Credit Is Due
Meredith and Conan thank you so much for sharing your delightful day, it looks as though Tinakilly Country House was the perfect setting for your summer garden party wedding xo Lou
The best inspiration I was hoping for from an outdoor real wedding. The harsh light could be dificult for a wedding photographer, but man… this is dope how the light is managed. Thanks for such a good inspiration!
Great effort done by the photographers. I can see that they have captured each and every important moment carefully. Good Job.
