An Intimate Lemington Spa Engagement

Becky and Paul, are totally down to earth, and are head over heels for one another, which can be seen in these beautiful shots. Having got engaged in New York {not jealous at all!!} they are planning a cosy winter wedding, which i for one cannot wait to see. Read on for a beautiful, heartfelt shoot and more from the couple about their love story…

Thanks so much to the ever awesome Birmingham based wedding photographer, Steve Gerrard Photography, for sharing his images today, here is what he had to say about the shoot;

“True story… Becky & Paul met at a club in Birmingham called Ramshackle. The club I started back in 1997!

I love happy endings. We met on Monday in Leamington Spa for their engagement shoot ahead of their wedding next February.”

Here is a little more about the couple…

“Friday nights were the Bristol Pear and Ramshackle nights. Both of us always started our nights off in the Bristol Pear, Selly Oak and eventually work our way up to Ramshackle! It was there between visits to the bar to restock on pints of vodka red bulls and dancing,  (mainly vodka refills) we would end up talking to one another and leaving our friendship groups, much to their annoyance before being dragged away again. After months of Friday nights we eventually met up in day light, sober and the rest is history

We went on a Thanksgiving trip to New York, not that either one of us is American, but we decided to join them in their celebrations. We stayed at Hotel Metro where we’d stayed on a previous trip, so we knew that the location was perfect, over looked by the Empire State Building, a short distance from Macy’s and the start of the Thanksgiving parade. In fact the hotel’s location played a massive part in the proposal. Originally Paul had planned getting down on one knee in Central Park, but when we were rudely awoken by the band rehearsals for the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade  at 2 am, we grabbed our winter coats and ventured on to the freezing hotel rooftop to see what was going on. Paul sneakily had slipped the Harbio jelly ring into his pocket and then got down on one knee! (The ring is still in the box and lives in my make up bag!)

We will be getting married on the 4th Feb 2012 at Spring Grove House, West Midlands Safari Park. It will be smallish wedding with key family and friends, 5 bridemaids, 2 Best Men, 1 usher and of course us. On the day will be toasting with hot chocolate and Baileys to give the day that winter feel!
For the evening will be moving down below ground to the Cellers to hopefully recreate some of that Ramshackle dancing but maybe without the pints of vodka red bulls!

Thanks so much Becky and Paul… and all the best in your final weeks of wedding planning :-) xoxo
