Summer lovers, here is one super beautiful wedding celebration, which is set to inspire your own nuptials. Let me introduce you to Abbie and Ben who were hitched at Sheene Mill in Cambridgeshire on the 28th May 2018. Their vision was for a small and intimate day with a pastel boho style and you know what? I just love it all. The pastel colours, the pretty decorations, the outdoor ceremony and the dreamy photography and film by Terri & Lori Photography and Film Studio, which we are just so thankful to be sharing with you today. Swoon.
Our stylish pair looked stunning in their chosen attire, as did their entire wedding party. The soft romantic florals really brought together all the elements of their day and I especially adore the lush rose bouquets. Do look out for the brilliant sweetie cart, delicate confetti cones and the divine calligraphy lettering, which is featured on the signs and the laser cut details too.
Do take in all of the images, film and wedding report folks. It’s just oh so pretty.
We visited Santorini on an amazing holiday that Ben had planned, in one of the most beautiful hotels. Ben arranged to have candles lit throughout our room and the pathway leading to it. I walked into the room and Ben was on one knee! It was absolutely amazing and I was in total shock!
We knew that we wanted an outdoor wedding with a relaxed vibe, with pastel colours and boho touches. We wanted a small intimate wedding with all of our close friends and family.
The Planning Process
I loved the planning stage, I went on Pinterest for new ideas frequently! As we were getting married in May, we hoped for lovely weather and therefore went with a summery peach colour theme for the day!
The Readings & Music
We had 2 poems read during the ceremony and live music was played by our incredible guitarist. I stepped down the aisle to One Direction’s – ‘Little Things’.
Sheene Mill was the perfect backdrop for our day, with its outdoor ceremony spot on the river, it perfectly matched the image in my head of our dream outdoor ceremony!
Leah from Belles Beauty did our makeup on the day, she was absolutely amazing and it was exactly what I hoped it would be for my wedding, everyone looked so perfect!
My Bridesmaids & Maid of Honour dresses were from ASOS’s bridal range, and I couldn’t recommend it more! They were such amazing quality and the perfect colour, with the added bonus of them being super affordable!
My flower girls had lovely dresses from Monsoon – they have such cute outfits for girls! We chose these dresses as they had the cutest bows which matched our colour theme and bridesmaids dresses perfectly!
Ben’s smart blue suit was from Ted Baker. To stand out, we wanted him to wear a different colour suit to his best man and groomsmen who were in grey suits, but we tied them all together with matching peach ties.
We had a 15,000 budget.
The Details & Décor
Hoping for a warm May, we planned our day around a summery pastel peach colour palette. A lot of our décor included flowers, greenery and calligraphy signage with a few boho touches.
We went for a 3-tier marble peachy cake with edible hand made flowers. We had a chocolate Nutella layer, lemon drizzle layer and raspberry and vanilla layer.
It was the best cake we have ever tasted!! Donna our cake lady is so talented!
Your Outfits & Accessories
My wedding dress was from Karen Forte in Bassingbourne. It was the first shop I went to and I fell in love instantly! It was my absolute dream dress, with the perfect vibe for our boho themed day!
In keeping with our pastel colour scheme, I chose a posy pastel bouquet. The colours were light peachy roses with white & light pinks, they were beautiful!
Your Photographer & Filmmaker
We chose Terri & Lori to capture both our photos and film for our wedding day. We are so happy with the final images and are especially pleased with the amazing highlights film from our day – I can’t stop watching it!!
We chose The Maldives which has always been our dream honeymoon location. It was everything we could have hoped for!
Walking down the aisle and seeing Ben waiting for me was just the most magical moment and something I will always remember. It was the most beautiful day for May, the sun came out of nowhere and stayed for the whole day, it was truly perfect! Having all our friends and family together in one room, and seeing everyone having so much fun was so special to us both.
Advice For Other Couples
Try not to stress about the small stuff in the final few weeks, on the day you won’t think twice about them! Just enjoy every second as it goes so fast!
