This week we are in beautiful North Carolina for the rustic wedding of Russ and Sasha who tied the knot last summer. They chose to marry at Brown Mountain Beech Resort and had the prettiest peach and mint details.
There were lush bouquets, stylish attire and a wonderful first look.
Huge thanks to the brilliant Meet The Burks for allowing me to share their gorgeous imagery today.
From the bride Sasha…
“Many brides have said that their wedding day passed too quickly and that’s usually the story of my daily life. But somehow on our wedding day, it felt like everything around us slowed down! Here are some tips that helped me to stay centered. If your schedule allows, plan something fun for the morning of wedding day. I didn’t mind seeing my hubby-to-be early in the morning so we went tubing with a group of friends and family. We had a blast and the cold river water left us feeling pleasantly refreshed. Also consider doing a First Look with your photographer and/or videographer. For me, that was where Russ and I shared the most genuine and intimate moments of the day. We cried and laughed, and cried some more. And then we did that all over again when saying our vows during the ceremony! I also found it helpful to ease up on some of the wedding traditions like the bouquet and garter toss. That way we had more time to mingle and dance. And lastly, take a moment to be grateful. I wrote out all of the cards for our family and my bridesmaids on wedding day so I was really able to reflect on the important things. That was the moment where I was able to let go of any “should-haves” involved in the wedding planning process and realize that our wedding was going everything we wanted it to be. It didn’t matter that it was going to rain or that the color of the linens were off by a shade… all the mattered was that the day we had been waiting for had reached and that we were sharing the greatest memories of our lives together.”
