I love the new meets old in this divine wedding editorial today. The combination of classical Tuscan styling and modern clean elements really adds edge and style. For example, the blooms, laden with foliage, dreamy dahlias in blush tones and opulent fruit really add a renaissance feel. Yet with the acrylic stationery nestled between the elegant candle sticks, it really becomes something extra special. The cake table with watercolour painted backdrop really adds wow factor. I think it’s always really fun to go all out with your cake table and make it a real centrepiece to the reception decoration. I also have to say the bridal looks here today are gorgeous, bohemian yet timeless with fresh radiant make up and rustic hair styles. Oh so beautiful.
Tipi Tuscan Romance
“The inspiration for this shoot stemmed from the beautiful hill towns of Tuscany and the surrounding olive groves and vineyards. Renowned for its art history and its beautiful landscape, Tuscany is a region that truly stimulates the senses and we wanted to incorporate traditional renaissance elements, along with some contemporary design and artwork into our tipi styling plan.
The entrance to the tipi was intended to mimic the pathway to a rustic Italian villa terrace, lined with quaint topiary trees and where two huge pedestal floral arrangements bursting with fresh, textured florals and juicy fruit take centre stage.
The faux topiary table plan combines traditional renaissance garden and contemporary design and includes acrylic hanging cards with a modern calligraphy font, which is a big focal point upon arrival.
The main table-scape is swathed in Italian ruscus foliage, sweeping overhead vines and is topped with fresh figs, peaches, grapes and blackberries to create that “Tuscan Feast” feel. There are rustic urns bursting with romantic blooms, including David Austin garden roses, plate sized dahlias and olive branches. These are then surrounded by an array of vintage brass candlesticks and coloured dinner candles. There are personalised glass plates and acrylic menus to add that modern touch and cut glass tea lights, along with blush pink waterfall napkins and transparent favour boxes containing sweet meringue kisses.
The hanging sweetheart table was designed in such a way that would provide an intimate table for two to escape from the busy wedding environment in the tipi and enjoy a romantic moment as a newly wed couple.
The cake table is truly a work of art in itself and incorporates a beautifully intricate, hand painted watercolour backdrop with a selection of gold embellished cakes and sweet treats to make your mouth water. There is more fruit, more textured ruscus foliage and more candles to create a beautiful ambience.
Draped above the main seating area is a wonderfully light chiffon ceiling installation with lush green foliage garlands, which just adds to the romantic and intimate atmosphere.”
