I really take my hat off to today’s team for bringing together this remarkably gorgeous modern wedding ideas editorial. They really curated a cool, city chic vibe with these images thanks to the fab cafe location in London; Brown & Green Life and the gorgeous green tones used throughout. Nature inspired this shoot, which brings a lovely juxtaposition to the city location, it goes to show there is no reason why natural style and greens can’t be used in the city.
I really love the on trend gowns and the flawless hair and make up looks. Not to mention the abundance of greenery throughout. The table was super contemporary featuring black tableware popping against the green hues wonderfully. I am also coveting the very stylish watercolour stationery and the artistic cake, both really make a statement. Such an inspiring set of images all captured by the fantastic Cat Arwel Photography, I am certain you will fall head over heels for them.

Modern, nature inspired shoot at Brown & Green Life
The concept for this shoot was to create a modern and refreshing design with a nature inspired palette and sense of calm, using layers of green on green with a hint of ochre. The vision was developed for a fashion conscious, creative London couple who completely love the corner of the city they’ve made home and want to share this element of their story with loved ones in a laid-back and fun way.
Photographer Cat Arwel and I had worked together previously and I love her cool artistic style, so when she told me she had a venue in mind I knew it would be charming. When Cat introduced me to Brown & Green Life, it became immediately apparent that it suited our vision perfectly. Positioned in the middle of Crystal Palace Park, the modern, informal venue overlooking the lake not only allowed us to incorporate the surroundings into our scheme but gave us the ideal ‘corner of the city’ location.
With a super stylish couple in mind, the focus for the bridalwear was chic and contemporary, so the stunning Andrea Hawkes gowns were a perfect match and the eye catching Ashley Wild bridal accessories were a beautiful complement. Chloe GH Bridal made sure our bride looked captivating yet completely natural and the look was completed with a beautifully harmonious bouquet of tonal greens and gorgeous textures created by Nichola from Grove Flora.
To highlight the community spirit aspect of the concept, it was important to Cat and I that we collaborated with a number of local suppliers which included the groomswear from D Solo’s. The independent boutique selected some gorgeous non-traditional pieces for our modern groom that worked so well with the unique bridalwear.
For the florals and décor the monochromatic palette was enhanced with textural layers to keep the styling fresh and playful. The balance of colour on the beautiful cake by Hannah Bakes London reflected the tablescape, which was abundant with greenery to create a fun and light-hearted feel. The soft pale linen contrasted with diamond studded coloured glassware and subtly patterned plates in different hues, selected from the incredible range at Classic Crockery. The amazing tactile stationery designed by Victoria at You Me Oui caught everyone’s eye with invites that twist and unique cut outs that looked really striking layered on each place setting and the addition of appetising sharing dishes by Leo really brought the tablescape to life and made everyone want to grab a seat!
