What loveliness I have to share today, think naked tipi, macramé, peacock chairs, pampas grass and Persian rugs to name just a few. So achingly cool, very on trend and of course totally bohemian in style, this styled shoot is brought to us by Holly Rose Stones who captured the ethereal images and Jess Gallagher who was the stylist, prop provider and hair stylist on the day. Wow!
A whole team of brilliantly creative suppliers came together to create wedding ideas which were totally bohemian at a private estate, set outdoors with seriously stylish outfits, gorgeous make up and hair and fashionable florals.
I really love the cake, which featured a dried flower hoop and pretty ribbon, set upon a basket as a cake stand. It really tied in with the vibe of the rest of the styling and the backdrops, which took centre stage to the different set ups. I really think these images will leave you feeling very inspired. Enjoy folks.
Naked Tipi Wedding Ideas
The inspiration for this shoot came from a joint love of all things bohemian and ethereal designs. We fulfilled our creative desires by collecting props from car boots, foraging the fields, asking friends for help where needed and collaborating with super creative industry vendors.
We loved the idea of combining everything we had collected into three different set ups. The first being the dream boho-chic ‘living room’ vibe, the second to bring in a naked tipi, and the third to show off the beautiful greenhouse and whimsical dress – all in keeping with our theme.
The location we chose was on a private estate in Serlby, kindly let out for us to use, by a friend. It has a lake, land, forest and greenhouse(!) and when we went to view it, we were in awe at how perfectly it matched our visions – what more could a bunch of creatives want!
After styling her own wedding last year, Jessica created ‘The Ivy Basket’ – a personal events and wedding styling business. She put together the backdrop from some old wood and stained it to match the colours of the day. Then created the naked tipi from branches in her garden and added some Etsy bought grass to the top. Collecting all the themed props from car boots, Etsy, eBay and charity shops. We had a ball helping her put it all together. Jess is also a hair stylist and styled Annabelle & Matt’s hair.
The cake was made by Charlotte at Cherry Blossom Cakes. Charlotte used a beautiful Laik Style ribbon to flow around the cake along with designing a beautiful ring of dried foliage and flowers to fit in with the boho theme.
We used a Daughters of Simone dress that I had borrowed from a previous bride for the first set up. I added some fake foliage, flowers and dried wheat to a fedora from Topshop for the ‘bride’ to wear. Lucy from Rosea Bridal then provided us with some gorgeous dresses for the tipi and greenhouse set ups. The ‘groom’ wore a suit from Revolver Menswear.
Billie our MUA created a beautifully soft sun-kissed face on Annabelle with peachy tones to start and adding an earthy golden brown toned eye, ‘Marie Antoinette’ from Charlotte Tilbury, for our second look. We wanted to keep it super natural but still compliment and reflect the tones of our location and set up.
