Today’s real wedding just oozes love, romance and intimacy. I love that WWW readers Matt and Nicola wanted their close family and friends surrounding them for a relaxed and easy going vibe. They chose the 13th July 2017 on which to hold their unbelievably pretty wedding day and Larchfield Estate in Northern Ireland was the location of choice. I just adore the scenic lush gardens and beautifully rustic barn, which was adorned with drapes, fairy lights and trees! In fact trees also lined the aisle of their church ceremony and my gosh did it look stunning.
Actually the flowers may be one of my favourite elements of their day, which were bright and beautiful. Not to mention how fabulous Nicola’s bouquet looked against her darling Jenny Packham gown, didn’t she look stunning? Matt was very dapper indeed, thanks to his suit of choice by Suitor Bros, the contrasting waistcoat works so well. They were captured so perfectly by Honey and the Moon Photography, from the little moments to the vows and their portraits together, you really can feel the love in the images. Thanks so much to Karolyn and Jess for sharing them with us today.
Enjoy it all lovely readers.
THE PROPOSAL | In South Africa on safari, after great white shark diving.
THE VISION | To enjoy our day with the people we care about most. We wanted our day to be different than other weddings we have been to before but not crazy over the top. We decided against a hotel wedding as control is often taken away from the couple and can become expensive for the guests.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | Sitting in the pub together looking at other people’s weddings and videos and deciding together what we liked.
THE VENUE | St. Peter’s Chapel, Lurgan followed by reception at Larchfield Estate.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Venetia, Jenny Packham dress and Badgley Mischka shoes.
FINDING THE DRESS | I went to Castle Couture in Ballymena where I spotted my dress on a mannequin and in a photograph as I walked through the door and it reminded me of my favourite dress I had seen on Pinterest. Laura in the store was great and gave me that dress and a few other options to try on to have an idea which style would suit. A few of the other dresses were lovely but the Jenny Packham Venetia dress was the most comfortable and fitted the theme of our wedding and Larchfield’s relaxed feel.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Suitor Bros – tailor made suit, Belfast. Barker shoes from Robinsons, Carrickfergus.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | Bride’s sisters, 5 year old niece and our friends read at the mass. Music in the chapel was by the stunning Songbirds and the band at Larchfield were the Moonshines.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Laura (sister) and Edele (cousin) wearing Hayley Paige from Castle Couture with Ted Baker shoes. Sophia, Jessica and Ariella flower girls wearing dresses from Marks and Spencers and flower crowns made by Neil at Orchid Studio, Portadown.
THE FLOWERS | Orchid Studio, Portadown – provided flowers and trees that lined the aisle in the chapel.
THE CAKE | French Village
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Honey and the Moon
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Orchid Studio and Blue Moon Events
THE HONEYMOON | The Residence, Maldives
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Friends who had travelled over for our wedding, Louise, Esme, Hannah.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Leave a few days after the wedding before heading on honeymoon. The celebrations always run on to next day. On the morning of the wedding ask your make up artist and hair stylist to start on the bride first. Most brides go last so that their hair and make up is freshly done but I would have preferred to be ready and have time for photos and to have some breathing time before walking down the aisle. Don’t focus too much on the weather. We had wanted to have our first dance outside but it rained. The day still went fantastically! Try to arrange time in the day, even five minutes to have alone together. The day goes so quickly and you barely get a chance to talk to each other. The longest we spoke to each other was probably during our vows.
