Intrigue Photography – New WWW Sponsor

If you are looking for fresh, modern and timeless images for your wedding, you are in the right place. As this afternoon i introduce you to the brilliant Brighton based, Intrigue Photography.

{w} Hi Alexa, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

I live in lovely sunny Brighton and I am currently planning my own wedding so as you can imagine I am rather wedding obsessed! I started my wedding photography business eight years now and I can honestly say I love going to work each day. My favourite things in life are: travelling with my camera, eating popcorn, dog walking, watching tv boxsets and movies, swimming in the sea (when it’s warm enough) snowboarding down mountains (when it’s cold enough), cooking, laughing and lastly (but certainly not least) spending time with my fiancé.

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

I really enjoy the variety that I come across when photographing people. No two people in this world are the same and there is no formula for how to take great photographs of them. I photograph weddings, essentially because my passion is people and it feels like a real honour to be involved in so many people’s big day. As far as dislikes are concerned… I’m not very good at tweeting about myself so social media networking is definitely something I need to work on!

{w} How did you get into photography and into the wedding industry?

I studied Fine Art and specialised in photography when I was at University. After I graduated I assisted a wedding photographer and learnt his approach to photographing weddings. During this time I gathered my own ideas and developed my own style, giving me experience and confidence to start my own business in 2005. I haven’t looked back – I truly love my job!

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

I aim to delight them with my images. I aim to exceed their expectations and produce gorgeous unique photo albums for the couple to love and cherish for the rest of their lives. I also aim to be a helpful, cheerful and discreet addition to people’s wedding day.

{w} What style is your work?

My style of wedding photography is fun, natural, has a creative approach and is made up of three key elements, which I think helps tell a complete story of the day. The first element is capturing all of the wonderfully natural moments as they unfold throughout the day. I like to think that I am unobtrusive in my approach and therefore capture expressions and reactions without interfering with the running of the day. The second element is photographing all of the lovely details of the day – The shoes, flowers, jewellery, dress, table decorations and cake to name but a few. All of these things can make gorgeous additions in the wedding album. The third element is achieving beautiful portraits of the newly wed couple and of their guests – this is a record of the day that they can treasure for life. By pre planning exactly how many group photographs the couple would like to be captured allows me to achieve these smoothly and within a small space of time. This means that they are not hanging around for hours and most importantly, they can relax and enjoy their day.

{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?

My wedding photography packages start at £950 and include the following…

-A pre-wedding consultation at the venue (when possible) – I find this useful to discuss ideas, locations and timings of the day, plus it helps for me to get to know the couple a bit better before the day.

-All day photographic coverage from the preparations through till after the first dance – I like my images to be able to tell a complete story of the day.

-Editing and retouching of the photographs – Approximately 200-300 images will be selected for your gallery.

-Password protected online gallery – For the couple and guests to be able to view the photographs.

Packages with beautiful, bespoke storybook or classic style albums begin at £1450.

{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting a wedding photographer?

Well, as I am currently choosing a photographer for my wedding, I would say look for someone that you have a good connection with. Ask to see several selections of complete wedding collections so you can see their approach to every element of the day. Discuss timings and plan where any posed shots will take place and for how long. Getting a good understanding of each other helps you to avoid any disappointment.
