To me weddings are made to be extra special when there are personal touches, especially those representing the couple. Being able to take home a momento and remember the wedding day for weeks or years to come is a lovely idea.

“The tradition of distributing wedding favours is a very old one. It is believed that the first wedding favor, common amongst European aristocrats, was known as a bonbonniere.The contents of these precious boxes were generally sugar cubes or delicate confections, which symbolise wealth and royalty. As sugar became more affordable, bonbonnieres were replaced with almonds.Traditionally, five Jordan almonds are presented in a confection box or wrapped in elegant fabric to represent fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness.”

I love love love the idea of homemade jam. My parents have a plum tree in their garden and I’m keeping everything crossed that it produces a lovely harvest in time for our wedding. Below are a couple of my favourite inspirations…
