I love love love LOVE weddings like the one we have for you today! This feast for the eyes is absolutely bursting with personality and a sense of light-hearted celebration; there is nothing too serious or formal about Imogen and Steven’s day, which is just what they wanted.
This effortlessly cool couple jetted off to Vegas in July 2017 to wed in the Chapel, sharing their day with close friends and a knees up in a local diner. For any tattoo admirers out there, Imogen’s style is just stunning. Her semi-sheer dress is super-sexy and perfectly shows off her gorgeous body art and amazing figure. I love that Imogen has embraced the glamour of her gown but injected that Vegas fun with her pink hair, white cowboy boots and leather jacket.
There are so many beautiful images here, captured wonderfully by Sally Rose. My particular favourites are those couple shots in the desert, this pair really look like true Vegas Rockstars! The whole day is a real showcase of Imogen and Steven’s vibrant personalities and I know you’ll just love the carefree, adventurous vibe these photos provide. Read on for Imogen’s insight into the day and how it all came together. Viva Las Vegas!
THE PROPOSAL | 20.03.15 in Iceland during the total Luna eclipse.
THE VISION | We wanted it to be fun, different and exciting. Both of us separately liked the idea of an Elvis Vegas wedding so it became the obvious choice!
THE PLANNING PROCESS | We searched online and found the Viva Las Vegas chapel that offered a pink Cadillac wedding package where Elvis drives the bride down the aisle, once we saw that none of the other packages stood a chance. After that it was just a case of booking it and inviting the guests, probably the simplest wedding planning ever!
BUDGET | The whole wedding, flights and outfits cost under £10,000.
THE VENUE | Viva Las Vegas main chapel.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My dress was from For Love and Lemons, shoes were from Wondering Coyote and my jacket was from Forever 21.
FINDING THE DRESS | I had an exact idea of the kind of dress I wanted (and shoes!). I had been chewing my best friends ear about it for weeks, and she actually found THE dress in a magazine, it’s not technically a wedding dress but that didn’t bother me.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Hugo boss shirt, NEXT trousers, Birkenstock sandals, stetson hat from Boot Barn and bolo tie from The Great Frog London.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | Can’t help falling in love by Elvis Presley. My dad also read out a quote by Elvis ” Without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain’t got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend – without a song.’ So I keep singing a song.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My bridesmaid was my sister Ella and my best friend Lauren was my maid of honour.
THE FLOWERS | My flowers were a classic champagne rose bouquet.
THE CAKE | No cake! I’m vegan and finding a vegan wedding cake in Vegas was too difficult.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Sally Rose. She came with us from the UK and we are so happy with the images!
We also had some standard photos taken by the in house photographer at the Viva Las Vegas chapel included in the package.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | After the ceremony we went to a singing 50s dinner and had our first dance which was really special. Later in the evening we went to the Brooklyn Bowl to see AFI perform and I went on stage in front of thousand of people my wedding dress (this was more scary then actually getting married!)
Having photos taken in the Desert was also really romantic and enjoyable.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | I know everyone says this (but it’s so true!) the day goes really fast, make sure you take the time to enjoy moments together and slow things down. Also try not to worry about things that don’t matter, it’s about love, try not to sweat the small stuff.
