Take a seat and settle in as you are going to want to soak up every second of this stunning real wedding feature today. We have the amazing nuptials of Charlotte and Rory to share with you, who were wed at the Windsor Guildhall followed by a reception at West Green House in Hampshire on the 20th April 2019. Their day was a beautifully fresh Spring celebration, filled with botanical and natural vibes, which was an authentic extension to the atmosphere of the greenhouse. They really added to the greenhouse venue with wild florals, botanical stationery and thoughtful details. They also added touches of gold for a modern twist, with a gold naked cake, gold frame seating plan and gold chairs. The results were just breathtaking.
I must also mention the attire as the whole bridal party looked wonderfully stylish. Charlotte wore a bespoke gown which featured delicate cap sleeves and divine fabric, Rory chose to wear an on trend navy tweed suit and the bridesmaids were in pretty lace. From the blooming gorgeous bouquets to the timeless transport, I think you are going to just adore this joyful celebration. The sensational photographs are courtesy of Kit Myers Photography and we are just so thankful to be sharing them with you.
We got engaged on Remembrance Sunday 2017 (Rory picked this so he wouldn’t forget the date in future!) at Brill Hill windmill in Oxfordshire. This is a very special place for me as I spent many happy times here with my family as a child.
We both wanted a relaxed, family-oriented wedding day and the venues we chose were perfect for this. For our design scheme, we wanted a relaxed, botanical, natural vibe, with a modern gold twist.
The Planning Process
I’m extremely lucky to have the super talented Hannah Berry Flowers (Insta @hannahberryflowers) as my sister. She helped us with the entire design process and we had lots of help from family to bring it all to life.
Your Outfits & Accessories
I bought my dress from the Farnham Bridal Boutique (thefarnhamboutique.com).
They have such a beautiful selection of dresses and they made the whole process so enjoyable! I absolutely loved my bespoke design and I couldn’t recommend them enough!
Rory’s suit – Rory’s bespoke navy tweed suit was made by Jennis & Warmann. The country vibe matched perfectly with the reception venue.
The bridal party’s hair was styled by @the_boho_bride and our makeup was done by @sarahwindsormua. We all absolutely loved our styles and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. They both listened to exactly what we wanted and made the whole experience so enjoyable!
Ceremony – The Guildhall, Windsor. If it’s good enough for Charles and Camilla, we reckoned it was good enough for us!
Reception – West Green House Gardens, Hook. We both love the outdoors so we fell in love with the greenhouse as soon as we saw it. The team at West Green were fantastic and made the day so special!
The Readings & Music
During the ceremony we had two beautiful readings from our sisters.
At the reception we had jazz pianist Tim Phoenix entertaining our guests. We were lucky enough to have our welcome drinks outside by the lake since the weather was so amazing. It was one of many magical moments on the day having our guests arrive and be guided in by Tim’s music drifting across the gardens.
Our flowers were designed and created by the amazingly talented @HannahBerryFlowers and her team. The bridal bouquets were wild and natural
with a hint of colour. They were filled with the most beautiful selection of flowers and finished off with subtle long dusty pink hand dyed ribbon. Hannah also created the most incredible floral arch at the entrance of the Greenhouse. We had no idea that this arch was being created so it was the loveliest surprise when we arrived at the venue!
The Details & Décor
As the reception venue was a greenhouse, we wanted to go with a botanical vibe with a modern gold twist. On each table we had log rounds with beautiful wild filled asymmetrical flower arrangements, paired with gold accessories. The dusty pink napkins were hand dyed by @hannahberryflowers from avocados and to finish off, each guest had a jar of handmade apple chutney courtesy of my lovely mum from apples gathered from the venue.
Our cake was supplied by @muffin_top_cakes. To fit our theme we wanted a gold naked cake adorned with flowers and the end result was perfect. It also tasted absolutely delicious!
We spent two nights at the South Lodge Hotel. Their new spa was amazing and the food at the Botanica restaurant was absolutely delicious!
My Bridesmaids’ dresses were from Little Mistress. We loved the vintage lace style and they fit perfectly with our design vision.
The man in charge of capturing our day was the hugely talented Kit Myers (Insta @kitmyers90). Neither of us wanted to have our guests spending hours posing awkwardly for photos and Kit’s style suited us down to the ground. Kit was so friendly and relaxed and captured the most amazing pictures! We can’t thank him enough!
Due to the changing of the guards in Windsor, the road was closed when we arrived. We had to vacate our vintage bus and the wedding party had to walk the final stretch through Windsor to get to the Guildhall. As we approached the Guildhall we were met with a full marching band – the atmosphere was amazing!
Another memorable moment was when we were collected at the end of the night in a vintage 1936 MG SA Coupé (agespast.co.uk) and waved off by our guests – we will never forget that!
Advice For Other Couples
Make sure you take the time to enjoy your day – it’s easy to get swept up worrying about the details but you definitely need to step back and soak in the amazing atmosphere of your special day with the people you love!
