A midsummer real wedding with sunshine, joy and style all round.
Yes it’s time for Jade and Ryan’s nuptials held at WWW faves Gaynes Park in Essex. The setting at Gaynes Park is just breathtaking; the rolling countryside made for sublime portraits by photographer Ilaria Petrucci, the barns are modern yet rustic in style and the gardens idyllic. It really suited the understated elegant vision the couple had for their day and they really enhanced the spaces with their chic and considered decoration. For example, the use of greenery and foliage in abundance was natural and pretty in equal measure. The ceremony backdrop in particular really was show stopping, I mean who wouldn’t want to say I do against those florals?
I also have total and utter hair envy today, Jade’s cropped locks look stunning in every shot, plus teamed with fresh make up, she looked so very radiant. Her lacy gown really was beautiful on her too. Ryan meanwhile went for a dapper blue suit, which coordinated with the gents perfectly. There is just so much to love here today I could wax lyrical, but instead I shall leave you with Jade’s words about their day.
THE PROPOSAL | Miami January 2015.
THE VISION | Understated, natural beauty and elegance using the gardens and barn of the wedding venue. This was to be incorporated throughout the theme with the stationery, flowers, cake and room dressing.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | We wanted to the wedding venue to be set around a barn and beautiful gardens and Gaynes Park suited that perfectly. Once the location was set we had a clear vision in mind with the flowers, lots of greenery with a rustic understated touch and a hint of our favourite flower, lavender to be set in the bouquets, also reflected into the save the dates and invites.
Next came the photographer, again we wanted the elegance and simple touches reflected into our photographs. From looking at Ilaria’s work we knew we had found our perfect photographer. We wanted our guests to be relaxed on the day and we wanted this to be reflected in our photos and memories. Once finding out Ilaria had too got married at Gaynes Park this made it even more perfect.
We used recommendations from friends for our entertainment, as we knew we wanted a live band to add to the atmosphere.
Looking at Pinterest and wedding magazines helped with the planning and making sure we did each stage bit by bit meant it was really enjoyable and not stressful
THE VENUE | Gaynes Park, Epping, Essex, perfect barn venue with lots of beautiful gardens and very close to our new found home.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Dress designer Art Couture.
I wanted to keep my dress a big surprise and wanted to make this really special between my mum and I so we did all of our dress shopping trips together. I had a vision of slim fitting with delicate detailing so it was just about finding the perfect dress. Again I wanted it to look elegant and timeless. I knew I wanted to wear a veil for walking down the aisle so went with a very simple, delicate one that went together perfectly with the dress. The dress was from The White Gallery in Ramsbottom, my home town so this made it even more special.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Ryan knew he wanted a blue suit that was perfectly fitted. The suits were tailor made from Suit Supply.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | We asked Jade’s brother and a close friend, Sarah to each write a reading for us.
To walk down the aisle we choose John Legend ‘All of me’ as we had seen him in concert a few years previously and we loved this song.
Whilst signing the register we had Gabrielle ‘Dreams’ and One Direction ‘Little things’.
Our first dance song was Kings of Leon ‘Sex on Fire’ as this was constantly being played when we had first met in Australia so it was always special to us.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I choose two maid of honours, close friends from my home town of Manchester, Viki and Natalie and my bridesmaids were friends from university Vicky and Karen who both now live in London.
Dresses were from Biba at House of Fraser.
THE FLOWERS | We used a florist called Luke and Lottie Floral Design. She was a recommend florist by Gaynes Park. The flowers were a big part of our day. I wanted lots of them and lots of greenery. Little splashes of lavender were added to the bouquets to bring in a little colour. I knew I wanted the orangery where we got married to have an archway made of flowers and when Claire recommended ferns I knew this would look great and really make it look unusual and really special. White
THE CAKE | We choose three different flavours: Jade’s favourite, Victoria Sponge, Ryan’s favourite, red velvet and one we knew all the guests would love, double chocolate. We wanted a rustic looking cake that was decorated with some of the wedding flowers.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | As soon as we had a chosen venue and date we wanted to find our perfect photographer. We were drawn instantly to creativeness of Ilaria’s work. From looking at her website I knew instantly we had found our match. I wanted our photographs to look natural and to simply reflect all the beautiful touches of our day. From speaking to Ilaria and warming instantly to her personality I knew we had made the right chose. As Ilaria had herself been married at Gaynes Park she was able to provide finer details about the venue
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | As the venue was so beautiful I wanted the detailing to be focusing around the flowers with an elegant yet rustic feel. As Ryan and I both had family members that were not able to join us on the day I wanted to have personal touches with family photographs played around the Orangery.
To really compliment the colours of the flowers we choose silver as the delicate detailing for the flower centre pieces and candle holders to be placed on each table. I wanted to make my own favours to give the wedding a personal touch and we decided to make a charity donation for both our grandparents who were not able to be at the wedding.
THE HONEYMOON | We went to several luxury spa destinations in Bali, a place we already had great memories. We wanted relaxation, beautiful surroundings, tasty food and lots of sun. Ryan planned the whole trip and the only thing I had know prior to the honeymoon was the choice of destination
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Having all of our family and friends from all paths of life in one venue will stay with us forever. Sharing the night before the wedding and the wedding morning getting ready with my bridesmaids was perfect and remembering the smiles on everyone’s face when they first see you in your dress. Ryan had also organised a saxophonist that plays in Ibiza to play throughout our wedding breakfast and this was definitely a highlight to remember
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy the planning, as once the wedding is over you will miss it. Have your quiet moments throughout the day with your partner as the day will be over before you know it
