Afternoon lovelies. I have the delight of introducing you to the lovely Leah from Golden Apple Designs this afternoon. Golden Apple Designs creates drop dead gorgeous wedding stationery, with a contemporary and whimsical feel.

I have had the pleasure of seeing, and feeling Leah’s design in person, and they are soooo cute and beautiful quality! I can see so many WWW couples coveting Leah’s designs. Anyway enough from me, enjoy…

{w} H Leah, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

Hello, I’m Leah and I own Golden Apple Designs, providing chic and contemporary stationery for modern and stylish weddings. I work from a pretty Victorian terrace in the centre of Leicester with my assistant Charlotte and my two pups, Scratch the border terrier and Buddy the whippet!

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

I love that I get to work on so many varied projects with so many different people. Every day is completely different, creating a variety of different items for lovely brides and grooms, from invitations (both bespoke or predesigned) to lovely on the day items. I also love collaborating with other suppliers on exciting creative projects.

It’s very hard to think of something that I dislike as I love my job so much, probably that it does get quite lonely sometimes working alone, so I’m really lucky that I now have a lovely assistant, Charlotte, who comes to help me out two afternoons a week.

{w} How did you get into design and into the wedding industry?

After working a variety of different jobs over the years (graphic designer, marketing manager, hen party planner and restaurant/ cocktail bar manager!) I finally found my calling at the beginning of 2009, which was to combine my love of weddings and romance with my previous work experience to provide unique and stylish stationery.

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

I aim to offer stationery that is high quality, well designed, flexible and very easy to order!

Every single one of my designs is completely customisable – they can be created in any colour and are available in different formats, sizes and layouts, making the stationery really flexible for my couples.

Designs are printed on a variety of different high quality materials, and I add new designs every couple of months, offering lots of variety and choice. I also print in house, ensuring that each and every item is finished to perfection.

{w} What style is your work?

The style of my work is very contemporary and pretty, and is design based rather than craft and features hand drawn illustrations and interesting typography. My designs are inspired by nature, romance, fun, laughter, love and nostalgia.

{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?

I offer a variety of different packages – pre designed items that can be customised and start from £1.50 a card, a DIY service so that items can be printed off and made at home, plus a completely bespoke service so that brides and grooms can have their perfect design created from scratch!

{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their wedding stationery?

Don’t worry too much about trends! Think about yourselves, and what you like! I think that your invitations should really reflect you as a couple, and get your guests excited about the big day so don’t be afraid to be inventive and have a bit of fun with your stationery.
