It may be hump day, but I think I have the perfect antidote today. It’s time to share WWW readers Jasmine and Milo’s wedding of course!
They were hitched on the 3rd August 2019 in a church ceremony and after they headed to Glevering Hall in Suffolk for their super cool festival vibes tipi wedding. Think all the smoke bombs, gorgeous botanical style and some seriously stunning outfits.
Sharon Cudworth Photography thank you so very much for sharing these truly beautiful images with us.
Milo proposed on a desert island in Mauritius! He arranged for a private chef and a guitarist to be waiting for us there. It was beyond perfect and I was so impressed at his secret organisation skills, as Milo really does not organise anything! He smashed it. And we both smashed the champagne afterwards!
We both love music! And we both love good food. Both of us are super chilled people. And the chilled festival vibe weekend was born from those three things really! I love the simplicity of botanical style weddings, so the pinterest board was full of botanical themed wedding inspiration. The idea of it all being over in a day was too much so we thought, well why not make a weekend of it. Then the glamping idea was born.
The Planning Process
I LOVE organising. So planning a DIY wedding was an absolute dream! All of our suppliers were researched, chosen and booked very quickly after the proposal! Spreadsheets were key in staying on top of the little things (love a spreadsheet). Creating our venue decorations was so much fun and I spent copious hours trailing pinterest, wedding blogs, wedding inspiration websites and wedding magazines to piece together the perfect wedding. Meetings and briefings with our suppliers were a fun part of the experience. Oh to do this again!
We spent £35000 altogether, on budget (of course).
We got married at the stunning Church in Ufford (St Mary’s). Milo’s Grandparents married here and we fell in love with it straight away. Our Vicar Paul was such a cool kid and brought such a lovely vibe to the ceremony.
Glevering Hall is a DIY wedding venue. It was a blank canvas allowing us to create our perfect day and has stunning countryside backdrops! It was the perfect fit.
The Readings & Music
We had the organist playing during the ceremony at the church. It gave a bit of tradition to an otherwise very untraditional wedding (we are total modernistas!) We loved it!
We had different music sets throughout the day from the guests arrival at the wedding field right up until midnight. It really did feel like a music festival, which brought us so much happiness. We had 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, Chilled RnB, Live Lounge, The Charts and to finish, Dancefloor classics. Safe to say the dancefloor was heaving!!!!
Your Makeup By Victoria – This woman is incredible! She actually put out a fire at my house during my bridal makeup trial (no joke). LEGEND!
Chelsea Lydford Hair – Such a lovely lady and super talented.
Your Outfits & Accessories
Wedding dress – Payton by Charlie Brear: Purchased from Amelia Alice. I adored my dress. Simple, elegant and so silky (felt like I was wearing pyjamas!). The ladies at Amelia Alice are lush!
Isla Headpiece – Anna Campbell. This was the first thing I purchased following the proposal. I fell in love with it and knew I had to have it!
The lad’s suits were from ASOS. Milo wanted something relaxed but still smart, hence the short sleeve shirts, dicky bow and braces!
Bridesmaid dresses were from ASOS. The girls wanted something that would allow them to let loose without letting loose (if you get my drift)!
The flower girls and page boys cute little outfits were from Monsoon. We really wanted them to be comfy!
Windmills Florist. They have a little shop in Woodbridge and the team are lovely!
The Details & Décor
We used Once Curious Dream to help style our venue and they supplied us with some awesome props, including our super cool triangular arbour, which was decorated beautifully by our florist. The tipis brought such a good feel to the day and look beautiful set out in the wedding field. The tables were decorated simply with candles and bottles containing eucalyptus and ivy set in water. It looked magical all lit up at night. The caterers adopted a street food kind of style, with pizzas, curry, salads, paella and scrummy desserts all served outside on rustic wooden food boards. It was dreamy food for sure. Hay bales and blankets around the fire pits, made it super cosy at night when we toasted marshmallows (these were our wedding favours).
The amazing Sharon Cudworth. Best decision we made. LOVE YOU SHARON.
My Cupcake Kitchen. We went for something simple, but it was delicious. We chose red velvet as it is Milo’s favourite. It disappeared quickly.
We have travelled far and wide but our favourite place in the world is Italy (great food and great wine). So that is where we jetted off to with Ted our son. Sardinia was stunning!
Milo’s reaction when he saw me at the church (his words – “You look well fit”)! That is so Milo.
Taking my shoes off as soon as we arrived at the wedding field! This is so me!
Having a mid afternoon cuddle with Milo and Ted in our bell tent listening to our awesome music!
Those sunset photos – so special.
Advice For Other Couples
Just chill out and take it all in. You only do it once (most of the time) so make it spectacular! (P.s. I would so get married again – to Milo of course. I just love wedding planning!)
