Morning lovelies.. i hope you are enjoying the bank holiday weekend.

As i mentioned last week, i brought a new foundation, and i thought today i would share my new purchase with you. Alongside my thoughts on it and some other items i use.

Now i may have mentioned this before but i have never been a make up kinda girl. I was the geeky/tomboy at school. I wasn’t the girl who got up early to make myself up in the morning…. me = lazy hehe!

Although i have always had a love of beauty/skincare as i have had eczema since i was a baby and am always on the search for the holy grail product.

Anyway, the foundation i had, was clinique and was my first ever liquid “proper” foundation i ever owned. I brought that a couple of years ago and have worn it here and there. Still my confidence felt low as i think the coverage was on the low side, and it clung to the dry skin.

I thought it was about time i invest or try a new foundation, so i put a call out on twitter for help. The wonderful make up artist Ana Ospina  replied to me and recommended trying a mineral foundation along with some brand names. Now a name i have kept hearing pop up is Laura Mercier, namely from make up artists. So i headed straight to the Laura Mercier counter after having read the raving reviews for their mineral foundation. The lady at the counter was wonderful, we decided on a colour slightly warmer than my skin tone as the palest colour washed me out a little.

After applying primer she swept the loose powder over my face, and i looked… well… nice hehe! I loved it. I decided to get the compact version as it is easier to apply, gives better build up of coverage and i can pop it in my bag. After having used it a few times now, i can say i love it.

If you are looking to DIY your wedding make up i would recommend a trip to their counter for your foundation.

Now i know i cant expect miracles from make up, it still clings a little to my dry areas. But i am certain that it is much improved from my old foundation. My skin looks almost luminous ↑ with a lovely natural glow and i am super happy with it. At £31 it’s not cheap but it was worth it for the confidence boost, i mean i’d spend that on a pair of jeans, why not my face ;-)

I have been using primer for a little while now, and have to say its a must have for your make up bag. I love the GOSH velvet touch foundation primer which can be found in superdrug. At £13 it seems expensive, but compared to other brands it is a steal especially with the brilliant reviews about it.

It feels amazing on your skin, you cant really describe it, but i guess it feels like velvet. It helps to smooth everything out, and i can vouch for it personally. I used my foundation the other day without it and it didnt’ look half as good as it does with this product.

If you are looking to do your own wedding make up, definitely invest in a great primer, it will help your make up stay put for the whole day.

Finally i had another lovely Glossybox delivery this month, thanks guys for the gift :-)

This months box is an eco friendly one, yum!! I haven’t tried all of the products out yet, but this Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum i have been. It’s just gorgeous, it’s lightweight, sinks in super fast and smells gorgeous. I’ve never used a serum before and i am enjoying using this. It’s even holding up on my eczema/sensitive skin… hooray!!

Serums are to be used after cleansing and before moisturiser to deeply hydrate your skin. This one is nice as it has 97% of natural ingredients. This could be a great product to get your skin in tip top condition for your big day. I may well invest in a full size version if it continues to impress me.

I hope you enjoyed that :-) Do let me know if you would like any more of these type of posts from me. I will be reviewing my Shellac manicure for you soon too! Ive had a chilled with with my boys. Little A has been poorly though bless him, so i am hoping this weekend to have some fun. We did have a walk in the bluebell woods though, and i took my camera :-) stay tuned!!

Let me share a little of whats to come this week :-)
