Calling all colour lovers. These drop-dead gorgeous festival yurt wedding ideas shot by Scott Carney Photography and sent over by North Sky Yurts will sure to delight you.
From the rainbow brights to the cool tents, stationery and dessert table there is something for you to take away for your own nuptials. I adore the Spring flowers, modern outfits and all the cute streamers. It really is a feast for the eyes. Hooray!
At North Sky Yurts, weβre all about our customers creating events as unique as them. For this shoot, we wanted to create a vibrant, fun, festival style wedding with our yurt and bell tent village in Leeds, Yorkshire. We wanted to showcase incredible suppliers who could help deliver an achievable aesthetic for couples looking to host a less traditional wedding party. We managed to onboard some great suppliers whose styles are bold, bright and upbeat which was perfect for what we had planned.
We were lucky to have met Scott Carney who is amazing at capturing those fun, dynamic shots at a wedding and knew we were in for a treat with his gallery. We also got Josh from Vita Wedding Films involved who has a great energy for getting the couple moving to create amazing videos.
Starting with our couple. we wanted a laidback look that was practical for getting married outdoors. We chose a grandad shirt with pink braces, black chinos and trainers for the groom and a stunning handmade, sustainable jumpsuit by Eliza May Atelier for the bride with sparkly trainers.
This allowed the bride to move freely and play the vintage outdoor games by Smithy Events and be able to dance away. Rather than a traditional style veil we opted for a bow tattoo veil designed by Claude Bridal Studio to add that bridal feel but make it a totally unique. This teamed with a loose curl by Hair By Shanead made it a perfect relaxed, low maintenance look.
Our yurts are really unique spaces with the intricate woodwork and lattice; they donβt need too much dressing to create an impact. Therefore we wanted to style them in a way that complemented the structure but didnβt overpower it. Our 24ft yurt can host up to 60 people and can easily be turned from a ceremony space to a reception meal and then into a dancefloor super easily.
Couples that love our yurts tend to also be couples who want to make their wedding really personal through DIY touches so that really fed the inspiration of the shoot to make sure the end look was something achievable for anyone to give a go.
Onto the flowers, we always learn something new about flowers when working with Charlie from Charlotteβs Floral Design. She prioritises working with Yorkshire grown flowers to create seasonal pieces. The bright pop of florals amongst the colourful styling, stationery and cakes looked super inviting.
We wanted to create a statement piece in the yurt with the floral cloud and it really drew your eyes to the intricate woodwork of the roof. We didnβt want to go too fussy with the flowers so the small bud vases and stunning bouquet worked perfectly for the theme of the shoot.
Sophie from Second From The Right stepped out of her usual style and hit the brief with a bright and flowing table scape. The aim was for it not to be a formal three course dinner set-up but with the aim of relaxed dining catered for with a street food van; however still looking elegant and stylish. Sophie worked her magic around the entire yurt with her bright candles, stunning coloured glass candle holders and black lanterns which really stood out against the colourful back drop. The dΓ©cor was colourful and energetic which really popped against the white canvas of the yurt. We also wanted to create an entrance to really invite people inside.
Along with the relaxed feel for the reception meal, we wanted the same for the cake. Jen from Chessy Bakery makes the most amazing dessert tables which we thought was perfect for the shoot. It really created a central space for guests to gather and enjoy something sweet after their meal that not only looked great but tasted even better.
The dessert boards complimented the main cake amazingly which was also on theme with the bright colours of the reveal around the middle. The circular cake stand made it a real centrepiece to the yurt with the shape mirroring the yurt.
We complimented Sophieβs styling with some stand out pieces. Firstly, the gorgeous signage from Sylvie Signs. The typography and gold leaf make Estherβs work capture the eye. The use of lyrics for the sign outside tied nicely in with the festival theme whilst the welcome sign inside was really personal to the couple.
Secondly, as big fans of Tanya from Daydreamer Creative we knew we wanted one of her banners as part of the shoot and the βLets Danceβ banner was everything we dreamed of. A real statement piece that can be used to hang on a wall when the wedding is over.
Lastly, having worked with Kathryn from Streamadelica before we knew we must have her streamers as part of the shoot. Their new streamer flags were ideal for this shoot to create that festival feel and really jazz up our yurt entrance. We also love the Glastonbury garland that we dressed our bell tent with as it really added to the party vibe.
To tie the whole theme together, Poppet & Moose Stationery created a modern, exciting design that incorporated the streamers and bold aesthetic of the day to use across the save the date, the invite, the table numbers and the menus.
No festival party is complete without tents and our luxury bell tents were the final piece of this vibrant puzzle. Our bell tent village was ideal for this wedding to create on site accommodation, avoiding late night taxis that allow guests to catch up over breakfast the next morning; all whilst looking great in the background of the photos. The tents are really comfortable for a great nights sleep and the light and airy dΓ©cor of the bell tents are comforting for sore heads the morning after.
Woah! So bright and beautiful. I love these festival yurt wedding ideas, a massive thanks goes to the brilliant team below for sharing them with us.
