Fans of simplicity are going to love the elegant and classy affair we have to share with you today. With a ceremony in a beautiful Cotswolds church and the reception at Stone Barn on 20th May 2018, everything about these nuptials is sleek and simple.
After the formality of the church service, WWW readers Danielle and Matthew wanted a home away from home, relaxed venue for the reception. Surrounded by beautiful English countryside on a gorgeous sunny day, they and their guests enjoyed delicious food and really felt at ease.
Plumping for only greenery and white flowers, the whole look of Danielle and Matthew’s wedding is so fresh and clean. Of course, the elegance continues with Danielle’s sleek and and stylish gown, Matthew’s dapper Reiss suit and the glamorous bridesmaids in grey.
Kayleigh Pope was the talented photographer that they chose to capture their day and didn’t she do a wonderful job? Thanks ever so much for sharing these gorgeous images with us today Kayleigh.
THE VISION
The vision of our wedding was just what we had achieved. I can honestly look at our wedding video and pictures and remember the day in the way of decoration that we had planned.
THE PLANNING PROCESS
The planning process I won’t lie was quite intense and stressful as we had just over 6 months to plan. I used a spreadsheet which had every cost recorded on it and this was what saved the day when it came to organising! I couldn’t have been without it!
BUDGET
Our budget was £20,000 to start with but we ended up spending £28,000 plus our honeymoon in the Maldives!
THE VENUE
Church – St Marys Bibury
Reception – Stone Barn
THE DETAILS AND DÉCOR
The décor we had was rustic but classy. I had a mix of trestle, oval and round tables with wooden chairs around the barn and I wanted a very simplistic look which was achieved! The tables were decorated with white cloth and each had a runner of green foliage displayed on the middle of the tables. I had two white balloons which were displayed in the barn from the Giant Balloon co – these were very pretty!
The name cards I did myself and placed in a wooden stand, this fitted in very nicely with the barn feeling. The table numbers were displayed in silver photo frames placed upon each table, this gave a very classy but relaxed feel.
The favours I created myself, which were a white sweet box filled with a variety of chocolates and sweets, these were then tied with a rustic string bow. The children’s favours were personalised named biscuits handmade by Cake Day Dreams – they all went down very well with the children!
The barn itself it so beautiful with lots of greenery and candles so I didn’t need to add much decoration!
YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES
My dress was Martina Liana, 823.
My earrings were from Ivory&Co and matched the embellished detail on my dress.
I wore Monsoon shoes which were simple and classy in Ivory, they had a low heel which was just what I wanted for ultimate comfort on the day.
Matt wore a tailored Reiss suit in dark navy with a beige / brown waistcoat and Selected Homme brogues in black.
BEAUTY
I chose a natural but full make up look with smoky eyes and bronzed cheeks. I was very happy with my make up and glow which lasted all day. Make up was by the lovely Jessica Ava.
THE READINGS AND MUSIC
The reading by my grandfather was very special and it added a special and intimate touch to the ceremony. Something I will cherish and look back on with a smile.
The music also was beautiful; we had a string quartet playing as the guests arrived at the church and during the signing of the register.
In the evening we then had a live band called City Sounds play our first dance and a variety of songs I had given them on a playlist, these were amazing! I would definitely recommend!
THE FLOWERS
The flowers we chose were green and white with no other colour. I really love the classy but simplistic look and the flowers by GoWildFlowers were just what we had hoped for. We had the barn decorated in green foliage with runners through each table and the bouquet for the bridesmaids and myself were white roses with a mix of other white flowers and lots of green foliage to break it up. The flowers were just BEAUTIFUL!
BRIDESMAIDS
The Bridesmaids wore the sleek and slim fitted bridesmaid dress from Oasis, the colour was a very pale grey and it fitted all of their shapes beautifully. The bridesmaids looked stunning and were all very pleased!
GROOMSMEN
The Groomsmen and our fathers wore Asos Dark Navy Suits with matching Navy Waistcoats which were all tailored to suit – I wanted them to all look very smart with not too many colours. The colour of the white rose flower and green foliage really broke up the navy and finished off the look!
THE CAKE
The cake which we designed ourselves was to match the decoration in the barn and the colour scheme of white and green, again the cake was very simple with slight detail on each layer and decorated in beautiful white roses and green foliage. We chose three different flavours; raspberry and Prosecco, chocolate brownie and lemon and blueberry – all were amazing! Claire at Cake Day Dreams created the cake we both dreamed of!
THE HONEYMOON
We chose the Maldives, which was out of this world. We went for 11 days and stayed at Atmosphere Kanifushi Resort, it was just paradise with the most amazing food and people. The room we had was a Sunset Junior Suite which had an enormous bathroom that was outdoors with a large Jacuzzi bath. It was heaven!
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
Kayleigh Pope – our very talented photographer created the most beautiful photos of our special day. Kayleigh was very attentive and covered all the photos which we wanted and more! The shots Kayleigh took were amazing with lots of natural ones of myself, matthew and our family members which is just what I wanted. I have such a beautiful album to look at which takes me back to the day in just a flash!
FILMMAKER
The guy that films – Connor Ling was our videographer and he was amazing! Super talented and created this beautiful video for us – which can be viewed here.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS
All of our wedding day was memorable but I would say the most special bit for me was the getting ready in the morning, obviously as well as marrying Matt at the church but spending the night before and morning with the girls in a lovely huge country house in the Cotswolds was perfect!
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES
Enjoy every second – it goes way too fast! Put yours and your partner’s feelings before others and remember you will never be able to please everyone!
