Dunchurch Park Hotel Wedding
Magical, celestial, fun and out of this world.
Paras and Amrit
A very warm welcome to Paras and Amrit today who were married on the 31st August 2019 at Dunchurch Park Hotel in Warwickshire. Their day was oh so beautiful and I just adore the photography here today by HBA Photography and the accompanying film by Blueridge Weddings, so much romance. Thanks so much for sharing today guys! They really captured the essence of this magical celebration, with guests, food and drink at the heart of Paras and Amrit’s celebrations. I especially love the prosecco van, pizza truck and the Rajasthan Brass Band sounded as though it was a real hit, what lucky guests.
Paras and Amrit both looked utterly stylish, with Amrit donning two dresses, designer heels and a glitzy bag and Paras had two suits; in the evening he changed into a velvet suit with bow tie. The bridesmaids wore a really vibrant shade of magenta which worked so well with the pretty blooms. For their décor the vision was a sky full of stars; all the sparkle and blooms you guys! To finish, a firework finale, what a way to end a spectacular wedding day. Wow.
The Proposal
It was a beautiful sunny day in the Confetti Field Wick in Pershore, Worcestershire, it is my favourite village. Paras jumped out of the fields on to his knee – ring in hand! The flowers were in full bloom, it was dreamy!
The Vision
A room full of stars – A chilled day with our favourite people, favourite food and drink.
The Planning Process
It was pretty straight forward really, Paras is a lover of the excel spread sheet, they are great for time frames, to keep us on track and budget. Always use an excel spread sheet! I also had a Maid of Honour who is all about the detail!
The Venue
Dunchurch Park Hotel, Rugby Road, Dunchurch, Warwickshire, CV22 6QW.
Your Outfits & Accessories
Bride
I had two wedding dresses!! Both from Perfections Bridal Studio in Worcester. They are the best team, Julie is so kind and made it a pleasure to choose a dress. A treasure trove of dresses for all price ranges!
I had an Essense of Australia dress for the daytime. After the afternoon reception, everyone went off for a little break and during this time I changed into a Stella York dress for the evening reception.
I chose Stuart Weitzman heels – glitter, comfort and the perfect heel height to keep you on your feet, comfy all day and night!
I had a Poze hand bag too – all the sequins a girl could ask for!
Groom
Paras had two suits… Sandro for the daytime. Then a Hugo Boss velvet evening suit with a bow tie from John Henric – he looked so handsome!!
Beauty
Arman Milan – hair and make up.
Bridesmaids
JJ Clothing – an online secret steal. My bridesmaids looked totally stunning in their off the shoulder numbers, such flattering dresses!
The Details & Décor
For the evening reception we wanted a theme of “a sky full of stars”. Sparkle with a touch of delphinium – a nod to the confetti flowers to mark our engagement day. On the table we also had baubles with star quotes as décor/favours.
Your Filmmaker
Blueridge Wedding Films – For a trailer lover, they did not fail, the most stunning trailer, our eyes well-up every time! Really unobtrusive on the day and easy to work with.
Groomsmen
The groomsmen wore their own suits.
Your Photographer
The best… HBA Photography. Simply the most dynamic dream team of Hannah and Ben, if anyone can capture the magical moments it’s for sure them! Every picture is gem! They were super relaxed and fun on the day, while being really well organised. They captured the day perfectly!
The Flowers
The Bloom Collective – Katy’s designs are stunning! Her pieces are all so bespoke. I had a stunning mixture of pastels; roses, dahlias, astrantia, carnation, sweetpeas, scabious and mint. The bridesmaids carried simple hand ties of delphiniums.
The Food
After the ceremony we had lots of pizzas from the Wedding Pizza Company. They brought their pizza truck and the pizzas kept coming all afternoon! Then after the break, in the evening, we had the more formal Indian feast!! We booked Harish from The Sweet Centre in Handsworth. He helped us plan a fusion of Punjabi and Gujarati cuisine for all of our 250 guests!!! We also had a few vegan guests and a few Jains who are strict vegetarians and everyone was catered for beautifully!
The Music
After the ceremony, we had the pizza truck and the prosecco van. But we also had The Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band from Jaipur. They were amazing. Everyone danced, the parents got involved and it created a fantastic atmosphere!! They have such a varied repertoire spanning Rajasthani folk songs, Bollywood hits, spiritual qawwali, Bhangra beats, sci-fi and intergalactic funk and even some well loved pop songs!!!
For the evening we had the Birmingham Crew DJ. We loved them for their ability to judge the mood of the party and get everyone on the dance floor!
The Cake
We kept it simple with a four-tiered M&S cake. We wanted to stay on budget but still have something beautiful so we included a flower topper from Bloom Collective it still looked gorgeous. We cut it with a huge sword provided by the toastmaster!
The Honeymoon
We really wanted an epic adventure and we really love to travel. So we started in Australia, then on to Fiji, then New Zealand with a stop in Bora Bora – ending in LA! Our honeymoon was the ultimate wedding present to each other!!
Memorable Moments
Seeing our room full of stars on our celestial day!
We loved the Rajasthani Band – they brought all the families together to dance and party in the afternoon!
The toastmaster helping to put the meet and greet line together for around 100 people so we could all say hello!
The firework finale! Best way to finish the day/night!
The afternoon was amazing, mingling with the guests with prosecco and pizza to hand. Peroni beers also on tap with half glass pints from the prosecco van. The little details from the prosecco and pizza vans were amazing and the guests loved it.
We also had our afternoon group photos in the grounds of the venue along with our couple photos. The weather held out for the most part, we only had to get the umbrellas out once!!
The evening was also amazing walking into the room with a cheer from our guests. We really enjoyed the speeches, it was wonderful to have a room full of laughter!! Paras was certainly ready to hit the open bar and the dance floor once his speech was done!!
Advice For Other Couples
Have a spreadsheet and review this often! The spreadsheet does not lie!
Start early and ensure you have a day of recovery following alcohol/wine tasting for your wedding! The mix of combos is a killer the next day!
Date nights will consist of the W word no matter how hard you try not to!
If nervous for your first dance, take a lesson, a day full of giggles for us both and not quite a Beyoncé routine but it did the job!
Make use of family and friends to help, my table decorations were made by my cousin and my sister with paintings dotted around by my other sister; personalised and beautiful and on budget (I’m married to an accountant)!
