I really love the feeling of old meets new in in this contemporary wedding ideas editorial. Set at Akeley Wood Manor which is a Tudor manor, the team behind the shoot White Rabbit Events and Little Orchard Vintage Hire hoped to create a modern wedding style with their fresh vision. They used some beautiful tones including burgundy and coral, which works so well in the pretty blooms, exquisite stationery and stylish attire.
There are some really gorgeous outfits including two very different yet beautiful dresses, teamed with wow factor hair and make up. The groom also wears two contrasting suits demonstrating how groom’s can really go bold with their wedding day look. There are also rather a few gorgeous acrylic signs dotted around which add to the contemporary feel. The table settings are beautiful, laden with gold touches and flowers too.
Also be sure to look out for the delicate bridal robe, divine floral cake and pretty accessories. Chloe Ely Photography, thank you so very much for sharing with us these superb images, what a feast for the eyes.
Contemporary Wedding Ideas
Nickie of Little Orchard Vintage Hire came together with Julia of White Rabbit Events to create a gorgeous inspirational shoot at the new wedding venue Akeley Wood Manor. Akeley Wood is stunning Tudor manor set in acres of Buckinghamshire countryside and offered a wonderful opportunity of blending the old with the new.

The vision was to pair the historical ‘Hogwarts-esq’ location with contemporary detail. The rose terrace to the rear of the manor gave me the inspiration for the colour palette with its honey coloured ironstone buildings that juxtaposed beautifully with the monochrome black and white Tudor elements. So soft peaches, warm coppers and golds met with a deep claret contrast for our scheme which all suppliers ran with. Internally the oak panelled walls were music to my eyes as a backdrop so we included a strong pop of colour (with more than a little nostalgic nod to 2019’s Pantone colour living coral).
I chose the hot list of suppliers who I knew would run riot with the scheme. Joules @willow&thyme created a flower jam of wild and free installations, which complimented Millie @papermillcalligraphy’s stunning stationery suite. Millie teamed traditional calligraphy with contemporary acrylic name places and signage. These were paired with an industrial copper arbour and rococo gilt framed signage from @littleorchardvintagehire, as well as the copper library chairs as seen in the pampas garden lounge area.
I also wanted to capture the authenticity of using a real couple, and literally hit gold with Cathy and her partner Will, who not only carried off both the contemporary and traditional gowns incredibly, Cathy’s warm auburn hair was also amazingly cohesive! WIN WIN!! Hair by Hayley @simonsmithhair was reinvented with both the styles of the shoot beautifully, whilst the amazing Katy @makeupbykaty_angelidi transformed Cathy and her bridesmaids!
Julia @white_rabbit_events trusted me to run with whatever scheme I felt would work which I am extremely grateful for and am delighted with the images the wonderful @chloeelyphotography captured in her light and airy creative way.
