Hooton Pagnell Hall is a new and up coming venue I had the pleasure of viewing during the building stage with a potential client. I fell in love with it from the minute I arrived, Nick and Ella are so welcoming and the venue is incredible, every possible detail has been thought about so I was keen to return and do a styled shoot and weddings as soon as possible.
When you walk around its incredible grounds I knew there would be a blossom tree somewhere and it is literally my favourite time of year and it only stays around for such a short period so with that we moved quickly to secure a date and then prayed the blossom stayed in time and boy did it.
The gorgeous pastel pinks dancing in the wind are just the most perfect confetti and with blush pink tones still proving very popular with brides I knew it would be a perfect combination. I engaged James from Sugarbird Photography having followed his work closely for a number of years along with all the other suppliers some whom I’d worked with before and some I hadn’t but their reputation proceeded them (Where The Ribbon Ends).
The brief was simple, a beautiful spring day, surrounded by the blossom to create something incredibly fresh, floral and pretty to compliment an amazing venue. I also feel styled shoots are an opportunity to be creative but I also like to ensure it would work for a ‘real bride’ and I really think we achieved this.
From a floral perspective I choose gorgeous garden roses, astilbe, the fluffiest of hydrangeas, delphiniums and peonies surrounded by gorgeous fresh eucalyptus which is always popular with brides. We created a large floral heavy centrepiece to bring the spring inside of the tithe barn, along with crushed velvet tablecloths, beautiful gold charger plates and our increasingly popular box lanterns. I’m a real sucker for beautiful candlelight, the more the better… this along with lots of fresh petals was a really pretty combination and a look easily achieved for real brides.
I then enlisted the help of Raspberry Toast to provide beautiful stationery with gold accents and boy did she deliver. Always a lover of anything sweet, I brought in Where The Ribbon Ends, again a fairly new business but with an incredible reputation, I’d followed their work for a while and knew they were the perfect girls for the job, I told them a brief and also asked for favours and sweet treats to compliment the table designs and they made the most gorgeous donuts, cucpcakes and handpainted macroons, they were also a dream to work with on the day and really brought some creative flair to the shoot.
