Laura and Jack had the cosiest, romantic autumn wedding at The Blue Pigeons in Kent. Their day was beautifully intimate and relaxed, with sparkling fairy lights, an abundance of greenery and soft pinks and greens throughout.
There was a real rustic charm about their day, with wooden furniture, neutral colours and elegant details. From the gorgeous attire to the special little details, I am sure you’ll agree, not only did Laura and Jack look amazing, but their whole day was just stunning.
Luckily for us, Charlotte Claricoat Photography was there to capture it all, big thanks to Charlotte for sharing these warming images with us.
After work one evening, we had been visiting friends and had a pretty normal weekday evening. On the drive home, Jack suggested we stop at some pretty woods to go for a little walk as it was still a light summery evening.
I walked ahead and as there was nobody else around I wanted to capture some nice pictures. As I turned around to Jack, he was down on one knee with the ring in his hand. I was so shocked I couldn’t believe it. Of course, I said yes. I was shaking with shock and happiness and couldn’t wait to tell all of our friends and family.
Our vision was very clear from the beginning. The venue was the perfect canvas for us to work with. Lots of gorgeous greenery, white and pale blush flowers, the flickering of lots of candles, dim lighting, lots of personal touches.
The Blue Pigeons, Worth, Deal, Kent. Emma and all the incredible staff at the BP really made our weekend out of this world. We couldn’t have done it without them and I have never met a more friendly, kind and helpful group of people. We will be visiting forevermore.
My dress was a simple and elegant off white dress, with a fitted bodice that wrapped around and had a V neck and straps. The skirt was a soft chiffon that hung straight down with a train. I also had a gorgeous jewelled belt and Italian silk trim veil.
The look I wanted to achieve was a Hollywood glamour vibe that was sophisticated and effortless without being OTT.
Jack’s suit was a wonderful three-piece oatmeal suit, teamed with a sage green tie and pocket square. We went for this style suit as it was summery and had rustic vibes, topped off perfectly with a foliage and quicksand rose buttonhole. This was matched by the father of the bride and the best man too. They all looked gorgeous.
We went for a simple and romantic non-religious ceremony. We picked our own personal promises and did not see each other prior to the ceremony! I walked down the aisle to ‘When I fall in love’ by Nat King Cole which was very special to me as it always reminds me of my nan and grandad.
Charlotte Claricoat – She is the most wonderful photographer! We couldn’t have asked for better. Charlotte felt like part of the wedding party, she is so relaxed and natural and gets all the right shots.
Kayleigh at the Pretty Events co. Kayleigh is fab and completely bought my vision to life, she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
Jessica from Boards by Jess did all of our personalised signage for the day, which was the perfect touch. Jess is so talented and it really added the finishing touches to our day.
Anna from Anna’s Country Flowers. I don’t think I will ever get over how incredible our wedding flowers were, I had a very particular vision and Anna just blew me away, I was moved to tears when I saw the flowers on the wedding morning. I have tried to dry and preserve as much as possible as I just can’t let them go.
A lodge in the Wiltshire countryside for a few nights and a few nights in London. We are going to go for our abroad honeymoon next year.
Enjoy the whole process, all of the prep and planning is what makes the wedding build-up so special. Enjoy every second along the way.
Don’t cram too much into your day so that things are rushed. You want to take it all in and see everyone without feeling overwhelmed.
Just SO special.
Laura and Jack thank you so much for sharing your wonderful The Blue Pigeons wedding with us, what a treat it’s been!
