The world is smaller now, with trains and flights at our fingertips, and sometimes it takes a spontaneous journey to find that little bit of quiet.
Today’s feature is a treasure of inspiration for all lovers of elopements, destination weddings, coastal landscapes – and the joys of simplicity. The creative team behind this photoshoot set out for Ibiza on an April’s day, with backpacks and suitcases full of everything but clothes. The twinkling lights of the archipelago welcomed them as they arrived, hinting at the wonders that their scouting trips would bring. The next day they settled into Cala Tarida, with its views of the emerald green sea on the horizon, and started making magic.
The intimate bay became the backdrop for their elegantly rustic table for two, with details and delights in all shades of blue, dusty rose, and gold, framed by a cerulean runner as soft as a wave in sunlight. The minimalist florals are tactile and wild, just like their surroundings, perfect in their imperfection. The three-layered cake posed behind them, with subtle brush strokes and shimmering gold leaf. The couple, Daiela and Paolo, shone so bright that even the clouds couldn’t dampen the day – and never more so than when, in the wind-swept ceremony spot, Paolo slowly lowered himself to one knee, and proposed – with the sea as his calming witness.
We hope you fall in love with this story as hard as we have, with all the moving captures by Serena Genovese Photography and the equally enchanting video by Urania Wedding Films.
Enjoy!
“Excuse me Miss, is your luggage full of…candles?”
“Yes.”
“Are you sure these are just…candles?”
Our journey toward Ibiza began just like this, with a few clothes poorly packed in a small backpack and some huge luggages full of all the necessary to create a real Ibiza-style atmosphere. The island welcomed us with a million of tiny lights, a glimmering in the night. After a lot of preparation via WhatsApp, long phone-calls and shared boards on Pinterest, the team was there and everything was quite ready.
The next day began scouting for the right location: Ibiza is just eye candy. Cala Tarida was lovely in the pale sun of a spring day and the sea turned from emerald green to blue, filling us with the joy only pure beauty can bring. We stopped in a small bay, an intimate beach, just for two. The elopement was served.
For the table setting, a cerulean-shaded runner with a liquid texture, enriched with light-blue details and touches of dusty rose and gold. Simple goblets with gold borders and plates that reminds of mother of pearl, with their imperfect perfection. Minimalistic and light florals. The day was not as sunny as we expected but Daiela and Paolo really filled our heart with their love. It is always precious to witness those emotions. The cake was three layers of subtle elegance where brush strokes and gold leaf played to recall of the movement of waves kissed by the sunlight.
A very touching shooting, especially when unexpectedly and romantically Paolo really popped the question to Daniela, telling why he loves her and bringing back a lot of their happy memories… Truly magical!
