We may be mid way through beautiful Spring, but that doesn’t mean we can’t dream of Autumn and I know many of you will be busy planning away Autumn weddings too. So I am sure this divine wedding today will fill you with ideas and inspiration.
Emma and Simon were married on the 25th October 2017 at Packington Moor in Staffordshire. The farm setting with barns for the ceremony and reception was just stunning. You know what I loved the most though? That decadent, rich burgundy colour scheme that is just so seasonal and super on trend too. The florals featuring roses, pine cones, berries and foliage aplenty were out of this world gorgeous. Not to mention the couple and their stylish attire. Simon and the gents looked too cool in their chosen outfits, think check suit, loafers, braces and bow ties. Oh yes! Emma’s bridal look really took my breath away, her woodland style flower crown, whimsy veil and tulle gown all looked sublime.
THE PROPOSAL | On a rowing boat, the river Nidd Knaresborough!
A very sweet very nervous Simon got down on one knee in a very unsteady boat and told me he always knew I was the one! Obviously I said YES!
THE VISION | Autumn.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | Emma did all the planning, she had her vision and persecuted it! She made or designed most of the decorations. Simon did the excellent playlist.
THE VENUE | Packington Moor, Litchfield. A beautiful rustic barn with tons of character! We loved it instantly.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | I had a sheath shaped dress, with a boho style veil and a woodland crown made with twigs. Shoes are from Ruby Shoo. Make up by Nicky Foster.
FINDING THE DRESS | The one shop I went to was Wed2b. I knew what style I preferred but wanted to check by trying absolutely every style. I saw one online I loved and asked if they had it as she went to look I tried a dress not realising it was the one online.. it was THE ONE.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Simon’s stunning suit was perfect!!! It was everything Simon. Quirky and different. The whole attire was from ASOS.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | We hired a musician, Ben Drummond and he did a guitar solo for walking down the aisle to Disney’s Lava.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Emily my best friend was my Maid of Honour, Kerry my sister was bridesmaid, my daughter Aaliyah was bridesmaid, all their dresses were from Elsie’s Attic. With hair pieces to match my flowers on my crown. My youngest daughter Jessica was our leaf girl in a floor length white dress from Monsoon with a matching head crown to me.
THE FLOWERS | The flowers were all made by me!! (Emma) I do flower arranging at work and knew exactly what style I wanted so I purchased what I wanted and made them all up the day before.
Lucie Pope (Simon’s sister) Into The Hedgerow made all the Groomsmen button holes and the mums corsages.
THE CAKE | We went for a three tier semi naked cake with matching cupcakes, then added some rustic coloured cupcakes and Krispy Creme donuts.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Kathryn Edwards was our photographer! I cannot praise this lady enough. We also had a second photographer Laura.
We had an engagement shoot with Kathryn a year before and Emma also had a boudoir shoot with her. Kathryn is so easy to be around and creates the most beautiful memories.
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | All décor was down to Emma really and her vision of an Autumn dream. A lot of thought and love went into it.
The well, for the cards was a team effort with her dad making the well and Emma transforming it into what she wanted.
Mary Simon’s mum made the seating plan and drew all the table plan pictures and names.
THE HONEYMOON | We went to Bath for a long weekend! It was just beautiful, a place none of us had been before but somewhere we will cherish forever.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Simon’s poem written to Emma in song lyrics for the morning of the wedding.
Everyone we loved the most in one room!! And all for us. That’s a special feeling.
The Caricaturist was amazing and wowed absolutely everyone.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Take in every second it goes way to fast. We took some time out to talk about the day and it was lovely.
