Thomas and Catherine married in April with a church service followed by a reception at East Riddlesden Hall, North Yorkshire. They wanted a relaxed day with family and friends contributing.
Catherine looked stunning in a Victorian inspired wedding dress and clutched the loveliest Lily of the Valley bouquet. Thomas went for a traditional morning suit, which looked very dapper.
I adore the flowers in bottles, the victoria sponge wedding cake and pretty bunting.
Thanks so much to the brilliant Mr & Mrs Photography for sharing their images with us today.
The Proposal… On a windy cragside in North Yorkshire.
The Vision for the Day… A relaxed day with a input from all our friends and family.
The Planning Process… We booked the venue a year before, fell in love with the rustic barn and formal gardens at East Riddlesden Hall – The church sits in the village where Catherine grew up, the sheep in the graveyard and the fact we could see the moorside crag where we got engaged sealed it for us – both the church and the venue had a real simple charm.
The Venue… Holy Trinity Church, Cowling and East Riddlesden Hall, Keighley, N Yorks.
The Dress + Accessories… From Ava Rose Hamilton in Silsden, a Victorian inspired dress with lace shoulders and pearl button up back.
Groom’s Attire… Morning dress, bespoke from Michelsberg Tailors, Leeds. Burgundy double breasted waistcoat to match the car!
The Readings + Music… Thomas’s sister Joanna read Love’s Philosophy by Percy Bysshe Shelly, and Amy Cussell read form Ecclesiastes. Our first dance was ‘Baby I love you’, the Ramones version.
Beautiful Bridesmaids… Wearing Phase 8 dresses, bold bottle green and white rose pattern.
The Flowers… Catherine’s bouquet was lily of the valley, classic and simple. Church flowers by Thomas’ granny (Amazing!) a collection of green and white flowers with dried wheat to reflect Tom’s farming background. We collected old bottles, some from Catherine’s grandpa who dug them up when he worked for the Yorkshire Water Board and some dug up from Thomas’s farm, cleaned them up and used them for table flowers. These flowers were provided by Anne Russell Flowers, Crosshills, Yorks.
The Cake… Made for us by Catherine’s mother Elaine, a two tier Victoria Sponge, with flowers.
Your Photographer… Craig Goode, Tom and Craig used to work together, Craig was amazing, taking the time to meet us beforehand to walk the venues with us and choose his spots for portraits, and on the day capturing many relaxed images that we’ll cherish.
The Details + Decor… Table stationery by Jimmywho.co.uk, homemade Sloe gin on each table provided by Tom’s father Ambrose, Wine coasters made by Tom’s Grandpa and vintage style tea cups collected over the year for our female guests. Our dessert was an afternoon tea inspired collection of cakes provided by our guests.
The Honeymoon… The Feversham Arms and the South of France this August.
Memorable Moments… Our sixteen month old daughter Eveline bursting onto the dance floor for a boogie during our first dance to totally steal the moment in her bedtime clothes.
Advice for Other Couples… Relax, don’t stress about the little things, remember to take some time to look around on the day and take it all in!
