Loren and Garrett’s woodsy wedding set at Wallaby Ranch in Florida was all kinds of rustic gorgeousness. They collect driftwood for their home so they collected and crafted the beautiful driftwood arch where they said their vows to one another. Not to mention that they caught the sea food for their guests to dine on too. All of the touches and details were hand made or personal to them, which made them all the more special.
Such a beautiful day.
Thanks so much to Jessica Cruz Photography for sending over these glorious images.
FROM THE BRIDE | Garrett and I like to collect drift wood wherever we go. We use the drift wood to decorate around the house and to grow our orchids on. But for the wedding, Garrett made an archway out of pieces that were found on our most recent adventures! Months before the wedding, we kept a chainsaw in the truck and when we’d see a tree trunk on the side of the road we would pull over and start it up! The rustic wood chunks that were on each table as a centerpiece were cut by the groom, and then I sanded them down and put a light stain on. I collected mismatched china plates for months. I have been to probably every single thrift store and antique shop in central Florida…no Joke! My mother made the lace tambourines for the children. I also collected old scraps of wood leftover from a construction job and hand painted ” Welcome to Our Wedding” & “How Sweet it is to be Loved by You.” Garrett’s father is retired navy, years ago he brought back a bunch of little hand made clay figures from Spain. Garret and I especially liked the naked man and woman so we decided to put them on the cake!
Garrett & I go to Key West every year for lobster season. We came back in August 2014 with approximately 120 lobsters caught by yours truly, ehh and maybe some help from Garrett! We also used the spear gun to bring home pounds of snapper, hog fish and grouper. All of this seafood was defrosted and served up at the wedding for our guests!
