Hello WWW readers, I’ve had a busy couple of months since my last blog in February, and time well and truly is running away from us. We now have four months to go to the big day and we are getting excited now! The whole planning process has been a bit of whirlwind if I’m honest, and brides who are planning on a short time scale, I salute you! I simply would not have been organised enough to have a shorter engagement!
Our main focus is currently the men in the wedding, which includes Will (the groom) as well as three ushers, our two dads and my son! Sorting out the usher’s suits has been trickier than we really expected. I was prepared for bridesmaid dress shopping to be a bit of a minefield, I was not prepared for the challenges of suit shopping. But in reality, it makes sense that it wouldn’t be straight forward. Like women, men come in all different shapes and sizes, and our ushers are no exception to that! After much shopping and web surfing, we have decided on some lovely (yet reasonably priced) navy blue suits from Marks & Spencer. We decided to buy rather than hire simply because we weren’t looking for tails, and felt it’d be nice for the boys to have a suit to keep. We are so pleased with the quality and would definitely suggest looking on the high street for men’s suits, there is so much choice out there! As well as M&S, Next has an extensive selection, as well as Burton and ASOS.
We ordered our invites from Belo Paperie, Stacey was so helpful and worked with us to tailor the invites to our wedding. When they arrived in the post they were beautifully packaged and it was so exciting to open them.
Our invites have now gone out, which was such an exciting moment for us!
Do not under estimate how exciting it is to see the RSVP cards landing on the door mat! We have been so touched by the positive and excited responses we are receiving from our family and friends. It means so much to have so much support.
We have also started work on our table plan, even though we’ve still got quite a while to go. On the advice of one of my bridesmaids we’re using little sticky notes so that we can move people around as required. It really is a much harder task though than we envisioned! We are really glad we’ve got a head start on it and I’m sure we’ll be editing it up until the last few days before the wedding!
Our DIY projects are also coming along, we are making some smaller chalkboards to display our wedding hashtag, as well as a DIY table plan. We purchased a light box from TK Maxx for £10! We have found TK Maxx is fab for picking up wedding related bargains! Next month we are going to visit our venue for our planning meeting. This will involve providing numbers and selecting our food, which is just so exciting!
