A Timeless, Classic + Elegant Wedding in the Lake District ~ UK Wedding Blog ~ Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

Hannah and Andrew were married back in May, on the most beautiful sunny day against the stunning backdrop of the Lake District.

They wanted a day that was classic, elegant and timeless, and those three things it certainly was. Hannah makes a striking bride, i love her gorgeous natural bouquet too. The purple bridesmaids are elegant yet fun and these images are all kinds of crazy awesome.

Thanks so much to the brilliant, Birmingham based wedding photographers, The Barbers for sharing their work today….. enjoy:

A Relaxed Countryside Family Wedding

A Relaxed Countryside Family Wedding ~ UK Wedding Blog ~ Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

James and Tracy were married in July 2010 in a beautiful countryside family feel day. I just love the simple but gorgeous and personal touches to the day and the beautiful photography.

Thanks so much to the amazing Surrey wedding photographer, Sugar and Spice Photography for sharing their work today, here is what they had to say about the day;

“James and Tracy’s wedding was special for so many reasons. In this day and age of ‘doing things differently’, there is still so much to be said for doing things beautifully, classically and with panache. For me this was the archetypal English wedding. Think Summer’s day, a quaint village church, and a reception on the village cricket pitch in a beautifully decorated marquee, and you have some of the key ingredients of this gorgeous wedding. Add to this a beautiful Bride and a handsome Groom, so much in love, and you have all the ingredients for the perfect wedding day.”

An English Garden Tea Party Wedding {1}

An English Garden Tea Party Wedding {1} ~ UK Wedding Blog ~ Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

This week’s schedule is a little altered, but it means lots of gorgeous weddings, and i have yet another beauty to share. Nicola and Ryan wanted to create a vintage English tea party for their wedding, which they created perfectly. Nicola looks so beautiful in her gown, and you cannot beat a traditional horse and carriage to complete the English theme.

Thanks so much to the fabulous award winning wedding photographer, Claire Evans Photography for sharing her work, here is what she had to say about the day;

“I loved absolutely everything about this wedding! Fantastic couple, lovely guests, a vintage theme, horse and carriage and beautiful flowers – it was one of my all time favourites! Nicola, Ryan and their Mums had thought of absolutely everything and the time and effort that must have gone into the preparations to make this such a wonderful day must have been immense! Nicola wore a stunning Maggie Sottero dress – she looked absolutely beautiful! Nicola and Ryan were married in the gorgeous St. Mary’s Church, Dunstall. After the ceremony we stopped off at Hoar Cross Hall en-route to the reception to take some photographs in the beautiful grounds. Then it was off to the reception which was held in a stunningly decorated marquee in the grounds of The Meynall Ingram Arms (I understand that Prince Charles is known to pop in when he’s in the area!) The marquee looked amazing – all decked out with fairy lights, bunting, vintage china, lots of butterflies and absolutely gorgeous flowers. The guests were treated to a proper English Tea Party with pretty china cake stands filled with sandwiches, pastries and cakes and pots of tea and lots of lovely Pimms. Nicola and Ryan chose to have a cheese tower instead of a traditional wedding cake and they had even placed two little sugar mice on the cheeses to represent the Bride and Groom! All the little touches and the attention to detail made this an amazing wedding.”

I have being dying to share this wedding with you all for a while now, and i am SUPER excited to be able to. It’s so very special, touching, romantic, stylish, indie and just beautiful!!

Denis from Deneemotion Videography actually submitted the wedding to me, see his incredibly moving film above… it’s just gorgeous! Here is what he had to say about the day….

“Dylan called me from Long Beach, California 6 months before the wedding and said “We like your style; the artistic angles at which the videos were shot, the editing of footage to great music, and the feel of the whole viewing experience and you are the person we want to create a timeless memory that we could share for the rest of our lives. We’ve researched so many companies that seemed so ‘ordinary’ and we could tell that we could work with you to get a great video that reflected the look and feel of our wedding.”

Anyway, during the conversation with Dylan, I had a feeling that this could be our most contemporary wedding to date, so I offered to interview them beforehand. We decided to film at Rebecca’s parents house in London and it was an ideal location for this type of thing. This couple (Dylbecca for short) was so passionate about the whole thing that it gave us a boost to make the best highlighs clip we possibly could.

We arrived to this venue which appeared to be the Great Barn, a magical 13th century Grade II barn. There were so many tiny lovely things to film that I left my assistant Max at the venue and went to film other preparations. Dylan told me about the first dance surprise. It was a actual live performance by their good friend Dan Perkins of The New Fidelity (newfidelity.com). Rebecca had no idea. We were so eager to see this idea becoming a reality!

It was to our surprise that the lovely Fearne Cotton of BBC Radio1 and fiancé Jesse Jenkins, a famous celebrity photographer and pro-skateboarder (jessejohnjenkins.com) were in attendance to add to the already magical vibe of the day.

So, since Dylan is from California, they had a second part of their wedding, in Mission Viejo, Los Angeles. We went there in October to film US reception as well. To conclude, we felt so lucky and happy these guys hired Deneemotion to film their UK and US parts!

Shot entirely on Canon 7D with multiple L lenses.

There’s not much not to love about this gorgeous day, a stunning bride in a beautiful lace dress, beautiful blooms and a funky car. Thanks so much to the fabulous Lucy Birkhead Photography for sharing her images today:
