Afternoon ;-)

I am so thrilled to be sharing yet more breathtaking photography today… i love this effortless and carefree romantic post wedding shoot. You may recognise the gorgeous Louise and Mark from their wedding i featured a little while ago, and it’s always a pleasure to do a follow up feature…. i love the end shots with the heart prop… CUTE!!

“Louise and Mark are really keen beach goers and surfers, and since they got married at Boconnoc (a little too far to go for beach photos on the day), they were very keen to visit the beach as part of their wedding memories. After their honeymoon in Costa Rica (we’re not jealous at all by the way – it sounded HORRIBLE!), we met them at Harlyn Bay in Cornwall for a photo shoot. These photo shoots are often known as “trash the dress” shoots – a term we’re not very keen on – this felt closer to a “cherish the dress” or a “rock the dress” shoot (although considering Louise went for a little paddle in it and the dog jumped all over it perhaps the phrase is appropriate!?). The dress is a Stewart Parvin and its definitely the best dress I’ve seen this wedding season (and I see a lot!).

We were scheduled to do these photos at 8.30 am before many people arrived on the beach but the weather was torrential – so we postponed until lunchtime. At the start of the shoot it was still raining and by the end of it the sun was out – typical Cornwall always keeping us guessing!

Mark’s late grandfather has a bench dedicated to him on the cliff top over-looking Harlyn Bay. Louise and Mark have a really sweet tradition of visiting the bench on regular occasions and having people take a photo of them on the bench from behind. Having a matching shot of them in their wedding outfits to add to the collection was a must. We set off to the bench with their beautiful dog Bella bouncing around joyfully.

After a few bench shots I was over the moon to discover the most beautiful field just around the corner. I love taking photographs in long grass or overgrown wild flowers, or wheat.”

I am so so excited this afternoon, as i am getting to feature one of my veryyyyyy favourite wedding photographers EVER.

This shoot is incredible, the images are out of this world amazing and i love the contrast of the urban vs rural locations. And just how adorable are Kienn and Joe, what a great way of grabbing some intimate and fun images together after a destination wedding :-)

The South Bank of the Thames followed by Richmond Park in Surrey (right on my doorstep and I never even knew).

Even the grey whether couldn’t put a downer on this gorgeous, bright and bold rock the dress shoot. I love that multi coloured umbrella, not to mention that stunning natural bouquet. How gorgeous is Cindy….. and her shoes?! WOW!! I am in heaven…

I love it when couples get together on their anniversary to get dressed up in their wedding attire and have some fun in front of a camera. I know for sure that this couple are going to enjoy their images for years to come.

“When Clare and Tim contacted us to ask if we were available for a Treasure the Dress shoot, we could never have imagined what a great day it would be. Surely the ultimate way to celebrate their first year of marriage, this gorgeous couple arrived late on a sunny but rather windy day determined to make the most of this opportunity, having had less time than expected for couples shots a year ago to the day in Leicestershire.

One quick change later, and wedding invitation designer Clare emerged in her stunning Alfred Angelo dress, set off perfectly by a corsage made by her sister-in-law Emily, who has her own Etsy shop Cupcakes and Corsages. With Tim looking dashing in his Bond-esque tux, we headed for Eastbourne seafront, winding our way towards the Wishtower, and making the most of the gorgeous light as the sun dipped ever lower behind us.

As it dropped below the hill we made our way to the top of Beachy Head, where the glorious views and setting sun really complemented the romanticism of Clare’s dress, and brought out Clare and Tim’s tender side. Oh, and have we mentioned the car yet? Tim’s pure white Triumph Herald, which he used to drive to the ceremony on their wedding day, and the perfect prop for the shoot!

We had such a great time, and it was so lovely to meet Clare and Tim and see how happy they are together. And it makes us feel so proud when we receive such a delightful response: “Oh my gosh, they are so beautiful. They are exactly what I was hoping for- and more!!! Choosing one will be impossible- I think we shall just *have* to order several…” Thank you both so much for letting us share your anniversary and we’re so glad we did!”

I do enjoy a bride that wants to recapture her wedding day look in a more fun way. Sue was a little different though, after a low key wedding she still wanted that wedding dress, so she got one just for this gorgeous shoot and the results are whimsy, romantic and so special.

“Sue has no pictures of her in a fancy wedding dress as, for her big day, she grabbed the boy and a couple of witnesses and adopted a low key start to her married life. This has served the pair of them very well indeedy but, like most girls, there was still a little bit of Sue that longed for The Dress.

Happily, I’m here to service most photographic pecadilos thus, props in hand, we headed to the beach. We chose Mawgan Porth on the north coast of Cornwall for its drama and general expansiveness. The weather had that day been frankly awful but, undeterred, we headed out – albeit with tactical brollies. One of the joys and, indeed, vexations of living in Cornwall is the indecisive weather – skies that are one moment blue and the next black. Accordingly, when we arrived the sun was out, the waves were crashing and the beach was almost empty – it was absolutely beautiful, if a trifle blowy.
