Are you dabbling with the idea of having live music at your wedding? Well this feature should help rather a lot. I have the pleasure of chatting with the brilliant One Foot in the Groove, an award winning wedding band based in Essex. In my opinion live music really gets a party going and One Foot in the Groove have a wealth of experience in doing just that, just see the testimonial section of their website.
Anyway enough from me, lets get to know One Foot in the Groove a little better.
{w} Hi One Foot in the Groove, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?
One Foot in the Groove are a specialist wedding band. They know what to play and when to play it. They will have you dancing from the very first song until you can dance no more!! A great combination of outstanding vocals and some of London’s finest session musicians. Together they perform an exciting selection of music from the 50’s to current chart hits, with the emphasis always on variety. Their repertoire is huge and they cover all styles of music and with over 10 years experience and 800 plus gigs behind them you will be booking the very best in live music.
The musicians that make up One Foot in the Groove can often be found in the studio, in the West End or on tour. They have played with some of the biggest names in the business: Michael Buble, Kylie Minogue, Simply Red, Westlife, Duran Duran, ABC, The Foundations, Earth, Wind and Fire, Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen.
The band is available from a 5 – 10 piece band, with keyboards, drums, guitar/vocals, bass/vocals and female lead vocals as the standard 5 piece band. A male lead vocalist, saxophone and a full brass section can also be added.
They offer special packages for weddings. Working with their couples to provide perfect music for their ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and of course the party. This is one band that do go the extra mile for their clients

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?
I love planning the music with a couple and then on the day seeing all that come together. When I watch the bride walk down the aisle I always have a tear in my eye, difficult when you have to sing at the same time!
Its wonderful job satisfaction seeing everyone dancing having a great time and then at the end of the night when the bride and groom come over and thank you. That’s job done. Knowing you have added something special to someone’s wedding day is priceless.

{w} How did you get into the wedding industry?
The musicians have a wealth of professional playing experience. We met each other through other work, whether with other bands, artists or in theatre, music is all any of us have ever done.
The band has been going for a long time but over the last eight years we have specialised with weddings, we really do love them. We have turned what was something we did when we weren’t in a show or touring with someone into a real wedding business.

Afternoon WWWers, i hope you are having a smiley happy Monday thus far.
For those of you in the midst of your wedding planning i have a wonderful company to introduce to you today. WWW’s newest sponsors The Poppy Trading Company are home to unique vintage rentals. With mismatched antique treasures and props perfect for making your wedding even more stylish. LOVE!
Lets get to know The Poppy Trading Company a little better…
{w} Hi Oliver, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?
I’m Oliver, I live in a tiny house, in tiny village in Staffordshire with my wonderful fiancé and a naughty Golden Retriever! Together, we run The Poppy Trading Company, bringing you lovely unique vintage furniture to hire for your wedding. I’m getting married in April after 10 wonderful years with my long suffering partner, and have never been more excited (or happy) in all my life :)

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?
I absolutely love beautiful things! So having a job where I’m surrounded by gorgeous, elegant furniture all day long is wonderful. Whether I’m buying new pieces, or restoring old ones, I’m in heaven! And on top of that, I get to share all of these wonderful things with you lovely couples out there getting married. What could be better?
The only drawback is that I can’t keep any of this lovey furniture in our house due to a certain Poppy the dog (yes, ‘the’ Poppy!) and her fondness for chewing!

{w} How did you get into furniture hire and into the wedding industry?
I’ve always enjoyed working with old furniture, buying pieces from auctions, and bringing them back to restore, recycle, and re-home them. When friends and family started asking to borrow pieces for parties and events, we had our ‘eureka’ moment and decided to make our collection available to everyone. Since then, we’ve been growing our collection as much as possible, trying to find something for everyone.
