I’m really excited to bring another favourite finds post to you, today with picks from the amazing wedding stylist The Bijou Bride. Who has taken the summer’s biggest trend… florals… into the wedding industry…. take it away Alex….
ENGLISH ROSES
At Bijou my wedding motto is that ‘inspiration comes from everywhere,’ you don’t have to solely look to wedding magazines to find your big day style. The Spring/ Summer 2011 catwalk collections were awash with country garden prints and all manner of flora and fauna motifs. Just look at these current ad campaigns from United Colors of Benetton (shot by Josh Olins) and D & G (shot by Mario Testino), which I’ve taken as inspiration for this piece – English Rose Bridesmaids.

Today i have a fabulous guest post from Hannah at The Ebury Collection. She has a fabulous online directory of the best wedding suppliers in the business, and together with those this morning she has provided a one stop shop of all the inspiration and advice you could ask for. Thank you so much to Hannah, i shall leave you in her very capable hands :-)
Launched in September 2010, The Ebury Collection is an elegant online wedding directory that brings together a handpicked collection of the UK’s most renowned and unique wedding suppliers to assist with every element of wedding planning. I was inspired to set up The Ebury Collection following the planning of my own wedding two years ago and set out to provide a full-service directory of trusted suppliers. My aim is to make planning a unique wedding that little bit easier and with an eclectic mix of well-known and less discovered but equally beautiful brands on board, The Ebury Collection does just that.
The website also features an ‘Ebury Treats’ section with regular and often exclusive offers from suppliers, a blog with ideas and inspiration, planning advice and the option to subscribe to weekly newsletters – essentially it’s a one-stop shop for all things wedding.
To bring you the very latest inspiration and advice for weddings, we’ve asked some of our favourite suppliers to offer their thoughts on how to create a unique look and ways to express individual personalities through the various elements of the day from cakes to vintage crockery. Here’s what they said: (more…)
Good afternoon everyone :-) As many of you know i have some health problems meaning i couldn’t attend the Designer Wedding Show, and not to be missed i put a call out on twitter to see if anyone could report back to me. I was so thrilled when Elizabeth and Amy both offered to help out. So here is their round up and musings {Amy’s images} from the wedding show last weekend. I love their picks and they have shown me some vendors i had yet to see. I hope you enjoy :-) Thanks again girls…
Amy Fallowfield ownder of Field and Fallow discuses her favourites from the show…
I had a great day at the Designer Wedding Show on Friday. This was the first wedding fair I’ve been to and talk about starting big! I was on my own and a bit shy (not to mention totally spaced out after blood tests that morning!) but it was a great experience and one I’d definitely recommend to any brides to be, bloggers or vendors.
I chatted to the lovely Kat from RocknRoll Bride, Tigerlily, the ladies from Magpie Vintage, and a number of other exhibitors who were all more than happy for me to break the ‘no photography’ rule and snap their stands for WWW!
What I liked
Exhibitors:
Allison is an evening and occassionwear designer with a vintage style collection that would be perfect for a non-traditional bride, bridemaids and for any mother of the bride who shudders at the idea of long line jackets or skirt suits. I loved this slinky glittery number.
If it is weird, or different, or quirky — so what?! It is YOURS. Own it, completely.
