Fresh, bold and zingy would be how I’d describe Alyss and Jimmy’s wedding. They chose to marry in an alfresco setting at Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum in Austin, Texas. They had beautiful green foliage used throughout with striking monochrome stripe accents. The results were amazing. Not to mention the emotional first look, stylish attire and amazing send off from their guests. WOW.
FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER | I love the vision that Alyss had for this gorgeous spring Umlauf garden wedding! Alyss and Jimmy, with the help of 36th Street Events, nailed their dream wedding while also capturing all the natural, simple outdoor beauty that Umlauf Sculpture Garden offers. Her lily of the valley bouquet and lush green centrepieces, by Jennifer’s Gardens, perfectly matched the simple natural elegance of their wedding day. Even their favours were nature-inspired blue bonnet wild flower seeds. Their first look had Alyss with watery eyes as she saw her soon-to-be-husband Jimmy for the first time. But she wasn’t the only one in tears… even her sweet father who walked her down the aisle later broke into tears during his toast to the new couple. These moments are so priceless, and I love capturing these special photos! Another sweet moment of comic relief is when the bride’s veil blew up during the ceremony and got caught on some of the floral arrangement. Luckily the sweet pastor helped liberate the lacy veil! :) Instead of a cake, this couple choose to serve cookies by Word Of Mouth Catering with genuine Texas Blue Bell Ice Cream…. yummy! The Royal Dukes Band got everyone dancing in the open air pavilion under the strands of white twinkle lights. When it was time to wind down the party, guests threw biodegradable and eco-friendly crumbled leaves at the couple. Alyss and Jimmy then hopped on their tandem bicycle (complete with LED lights and champagne in the basket!) and rode through south Austin back to their hotel downtown. Guests also released white balloons as they exited and waved their goodbyes…What an exit!!!
