This bright, beautiful and boho feel celebration is the perfect way to freshen up your Monday morning. Every single image is filled with love and laughter, not to mention a cute pup and some gorgeous touches too.
WWW readers Eledie and Daniel tied the knot on the 9th July 2016 at The Swan Bar & Brasserie, West Malling in Kent. They chose the pub as they were looking for a unique venue and it also happened to be where they had their first date, now that’s fate. There is a lovely modern feel to their celebration with fun pink and green touches. Pink ran throughout the attire, from Eledie’s romantic blush Naomi Neoh ‘Vivienne’ gown to the bridesmaids in Twobirds Bridesmaid dresses and the gents in pink ties. Then the popping green tones came from the foliage used throughout in the flower arrangements, which were used everywhere for a dramatic look. I also love Eledie’s floral headdress, she looked sensational.
Look out for the epic naked cake, rose gold sequin table cloths and hanging flowers folks.
Thanks so much to ELS Photography for sharing these wonderful photographs.
THE PROPOSAL | Dan took me on a surprise trip to Venice for my 30th birthday. He’d even hired a private wooden motor launch to pick us up from the airport, which was so amazing. The night of my birthday we took a boat trip to the island of Burano which is a beautiful island where every house painted different bright colours. Dan had booked a private roof top table, which overlooked the pretty houses and the sea. The restaurant was ridiculously romantic and when Dan got down on one knee at the end of the meal I couldn’t believe it was finally happening and he just managed to blub out I love you so much will you marry me!
THE VISION | Being super close to my family we really wanted a small wedding where everybody knew everyone and for it to feel very relaxed and romantic. We wanted good food and a beautiful venue that could be decked in flowers.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | We did all the wedding planning by ourselves and as I love to make things and craft things it was the ultimate project!
THE VENUE | After visiting many venues, many of which churned weddings out nearly every day of the year we were looking for something that was just that bit special and unique. Dan and I have been to The Swan a lot over the time we have been together, Dan even took me there for our first official date after meeting at V Festival. So this venue was already so special to us. The fact that they don’t have many full weddings a year complemented with great food, drinks and great service. It’s a gorgeous venue, it’s romantic, stylish, with a vintage chic interior with a fantastic garden and as soon as you walk in it has a great feel to it and you know you’re not going to be disappointed.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Naomi Neoh – Vivienne, the most beautiful and romantic dress I have ever seen. It even had a slight blush pink in the underskirt! Complemented with a veil, bolero with Naomi Neoh’s signature flower my look for the day and a sparkly belt.
A little mention to the amazing Martine (Miss Kay Seamstress) who was my lovely seamstress who made my dream dress perfect for little me. Nothing was too much trouble and I would highly recommend her anyway.
FINDING THE DRESS | After visiting several boutiques I went with my mum to the lovely Isabella Grace Bridal Boutique. As soon a we walked into the boutique this beautiful blush pink dress caught my eye and I knew I had to try it on. I picked out several dresses as well as the beautiful blush Vivienne and another Naomi Neoh. I started to try on the other dresses which just weren’t the one. Until I put on the first of the Naomi Neoh dress, it made me feel amazing and I knew it was a contender. The next dress was the Vivienne dress and this was the dream dress. However I still felt confused and couldn’t make the decision between the two so a second visit was booked this time to bring my cousin with me and my mum to get a second opinion.
After the second visit and walking down the front of the boutique to look in the mirror wearing the beautiful Vivienne we all agreed that it was the one!
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Dan’s had mixture of designers for his wedding suit, his jacket, waistcoat were by Marc Darcy and his shirt and chinos were from Luke, which were all purchased from Monk’s Clothing, in West Malling. After seeing them at The Swan’s wedding open day I knew that was the place he would be buying his wedding suit from as he wanted something more than just a plain suit. However he left it all till the last few weeks before the wedding! This was the only thing that stressed me out especially seen the ties turned up from America the morning of the wedding!!
THE READINGS & MUSIC | We had two readings, I wanna be yours by John Cooper-Clarke, which is also used in the Arctic Monkeys song and Marriage. My entrance song was ‘Better Man’ by Paolo Nutini and our exit song was ‘Is This Love’.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I had three bridesmaids, my cousin Lisa, was my maid of honour and my two friends, Michelle and Nicki were my other bridesmaids. Their dresses were from Twobirds and were perfect for twirling on the dance floor! My little niece was our cute flower girl and her dress was from Monsoon.
THE FLOWERS | A hugely important part of the day, when else can you have a venue full of flowers all for you! Since becoming addicted to Pinterest I had seen an image of suspended flowers from a marquee and knew that was what we were going to have. I love mercury glass so finding the antique silver footed bowls on The Wedding Of My Dreams website for table centrepieces were a great find!
It was an absolute dream to work with Helen and bounce ideas around with her. We knew that we could just tell Helen everything we wanted and leave it in her more than capable hands to produce the vision. We just knew we wanted lots of flowers and we weren’t disappointed.
THE CAKE | Dan’s favourite cake is Victoria sponge so there was one decision that we didn’t even have to discuss. We just wanted a naked cake with plenty of flowers and shortbread hearts! Taking inspiration from Frances Quinn’s cake she made for her friends wedding. The cake stand was from a fallen tree from my parents and auntie and uncles hotel and the jam was made by my parents friends who have a jam company in the New Forest.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Emma is the most friendliest and loveliest person. As soon as you meet her you feel like you have been friends for ever. She completely puts you at ease and makes you laugh so much. Emma captures the greatest moments of the day and it has been amazing looking back through all of the photos and reliving our day as it just went too fast! We just seem to be laughing constantly!
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | All of the signs, invites, stationery, confetti cones, favours were made by myself with help here and there from Dan, my cousin Lisa and my mum. With my engagement ring being rose gold and also my dress having blush pink the colour theme was easy.
THE HONEYMOON | We wanted to take our dog with us on our mini moon so we went to The Headland Hotel in Newquay and stayed in one of their lovely cottages on the cliff overlooking the picturesque Fistral Bay. As we met at a festival we thought there is no better way than celebrating our honeymoon at a festival! So we are booked up to go to Coachella in Palm Springs. We’ve got a few days in LA first then we are going to hire a really cool car to drive to Palm Springs in. After the festival we will definitely need some relaxation time so will be jetting off to Mexico to lounge around on the beach and drink cocktails.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Before I put my dress on my Dad was dropped off at the cottage that we were staying at. While all my bridesmaids we finishing having their make up and hair done I spent some time out in the garden with my parents with a glass of champagne. That time seemed to almost seemed to be in slow motion. The moment they both saw me in my dress was one I’ll never forget. Seeing my handsome husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle, he was so nervous and didn’t look back at me until I had reached him at the end as he was holding back the tears!
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Everybody says that your day goes so quickly and they aren’t lying! It goes ridiculously fast, try as much a you can to take some time together just to watch all the people you love in the same place at the same time and all for you!
Be prepared for the wedding come down! I had spent so much of my spare time planning and making things that when it was over I had no idea what to do with all my spare time!
Don’t fret over the small stuff! All the little things you are worrying about will be completely insignificant on the day because all that matters is that you are marrying your best friend and all your lovely friends are family are there to share it with you.
If you’re debating on whether to spend the extra money on a videographer it is definitely worth it. One of our biggest regrets is not having one. In the lead up to our wedding we were lucky enough to be guests at a couple of wedding both of which had videographers. We have seen my cousins video which is amazing and is another level to looking back over the photos. So if you’re not sure … just do it!! Sacrifice something else from the budget to have it if you need to it is definitely a worth while investment that you can watch for years and years!
