Favourite Finds, English Roses ~ Floral Bridesmaid Inspiration

Hi and welcome to Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, a daily wedding blog providing daily wedding inspiration in the form of real wedding reports, engagement shoots, inspiration shoots and much more. You can stay updated via my facebook page, or through twitter or you can sign up to the RSS feed. Don’t forget to check out the vendor love page for some amazing wedding suppliers.

I’m really excited to bring another favourite finds post to you, today with picks from the amazing wedding stylist The Bijou Bride. Who has taken the summer’s biggest trend… florals… into the wedding industry…. take it away Alex….

ENGLISH ROSES

At Bijou my wedding motto is that ‘inspiration comes from everywhere,’ you don’t have to solely look to wedding magazines to find your big day style. The Spring/ Summer 2011 catwalk collections were awash with country garden prints and all manner of flora and fauna motifs. Just look at these current ad campaigns from United Colors of Benetton (shot by Josh Olins) and D & G (shot by Mario Testino), which I’ve taken as inspiration for this piece – English Rose Bridesmaids.

Wedding colour schemes are not as strict as they once were and in fact just like recent fashion trends – colour clashes are so wrong they’re right!

From darling buds of May to wallflowers, wild roses to shrinking violets there is a dress out there to suit all your beautiful bridesmaids and their personalities.

At Bijou I’m a big advocate of the High Street and I’ve tracked down the best blooms in dresses, guaranteed to inject some serious flower power into your wedding day.

Styling tip – as a general rule smaller prints are suited to smaller dress sizes and vice versa.
