WWW readers Elisha and Gary wed at Iscoyd Park on the 14th August 2017. Whilst the glorious country house venue speaks for itself, theirs was a day filled with plenty of classic details and ALL the floral beauty. I love the atmosphere that high table arrangements create and these ones are just stunning. Elisha’s favourite white roses really lead the colour scheme into a wonderfully neutral palette.
Doughnut wall fans of the world rejoice! Elisha and Gary’s wedding is a master-class in how to pull this trend off in an ever so chic way. There are so many other gorgeous touches to take in too from the blossom trees and the floating candles to the stylishly presented light up letters. This day is as romantic as it is stylish and the neutral colours make the whole thing flow perfectly.
Elisha knew as soon as she set eyes on it that her Pronovias gown was ‘the one’ and doesn’t she look just beautiful? Gary went to Blooms Menswear for his navy number and what a dapper chap he looks.
Thank you Lisa Webb for sharing these simply divine images with us.
THE PROPOSAL | It was on 01.07.16 after a romantic meal on the beach in Lindos, Rhodes (our favourite holiday destination which we have visited for the last five years!). We have been together for 10 years so it had been a long time coming and was a complete surprise!
THE VISION | Having all our family at our wedding was the main priority for us when planning our wedding! As we both have large families we needed a venue which would accommodate for them all! Iscoyd Park was the first venue we visited and I instantly knew it was the venue for our wedding. The simple marquee was a perfect canvas for our décor which I kept simple – with white flowers and lots of green foliage. I wanted the wedding to revolve around amazing food, lots of drink and dancing, which I knew we would receive at Iscoyd Park.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | We wanted to get married fairly quickly after our engagement, so after visiting Iscoyd Park we set the date for 14.08.17. This only gave me one year to plan for the wedding, which I found plenty of time as I already had all the ideas I just needed to put them into action! At the open day we got to experience the amazing work of Red floral Architecture and booked them to do our marquee table centrepieces, which were incredible! I kept my colour scheme to white flowers and green foliage, with masses of candles – which I think is classy & romantic!
BUDGET | Approximately £40,000
THE VENUE | Iscoyd Park, Whitchurch
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES |
Dress – Princia by Pronovias
Veil – Pronovias
Shoes – Badgley Mischka
Earrings & Bracelet – Swarovski
Hair Vine – Julieann Bird Designs
FINDING THE DRESS | I took a day trip to London with my mother, mother in law, aunty and bridesmaids on the search for the perfect wedding dress. I had already seen the dress I thought would be the one on the Pronovias website – so booked an appointment at their flagship store on Bond Street, London. The whole dress experience was so exciting and we were greeted with champagne on arrival! We all chose a selection of dresses including the one I had my eye on to try on. The first dress I tried on was THE ONE! As soon as I put it on I knew it felt right and after revealing it to my family and friends, who were all reduced to tears, I bought it! The whole process was much easier and stress free than I had imagined and after a few trips to London for fittings we brought home my perfect wedding dress!
GROOM’S ATTIRE | The groom opted for a tailored navy three piece suit from Blooms Menswear in Wolverhampton and tan brogues. He wore a champagne tie and pocket square to complement my dress which had a champagne layer beneath the ivory lace. The button hole was a simple white rose with some eucalyptus leaves. As a wedding gift I brought him a tan Daniel Wellington watch to match his shoes and also a personalised tie clip with the wedding date on.
THE READINGS & MUSIC |As we had our ceremony in church we had a religious reading which was Corinthians Chapter 13. This was delivered by one of the priests. As an extra reading and a bit of a surprise for our guests we asked our nephew Connor who is 8 years old to read a poem about marriage ‘On Your Wedding Day’. It was extremely touching and he did us proud standing up in front of all our guests to deliver the poem.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I had five bridesmaids; my sisters Jessica & Johanne, my two best friends Nicole & Emily, my sister in law Rachel and her daughter Harper as our flower girl. Their dresses were by TFNC from ASOS and were dusty lavender with a low back and silk bow. For their hair we opted for a plaited up-do, adorned with small pieces of gypsophillia. Their earrings were made by Julieann Bird Designs and featured Swarovski crystals and small pearls in a teardrop shape.
THE FLOWERS | Our bridal bouquets and button holes were created by Nigel Whyles designs and all featured white roses and green foliage to keep with the rest of the colour scheme for our wedding. We wanted the church to be full of beautiful flowers – which it was! At the entrance we had milk churns full of flowers with arrangements also attached to the side of the doors. Inside the church we had flowers on the ends of most pews attached to the candle holders. At the end of the aisle there was a pedestal holding another floral arrangement of white roses. The flowers at Iscoyd Park were created by Red Floral Architecture. On the tables we had alternating blossom trees with white and green hero arrangements. As the marquee was such a large blank canvas I wanted to create height and impact with the table centrepieces to wow our guests as they entered!
THE CAKE | We opted for a four tier cake made by Cut The Cake Kitchen. It was white icing with lavender roses and lace detailing on the icing. Each tier was a different flavour consisting of Champagne, Lemon, Carrot Cake & Victoria sponge – It was delicious! Red Floral decorated the cake table with foliage and floating candle to add to the impact.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Iscoyd Park is already stunning and beautifully kept – filled with fresh flowers and candles and we wanted to carry this on into the marquee. We wanted our décor to be simple but also stunning which is why we opted for the white and green colour scheme. White roses are my favourite flower so we incorporated masses of these in the bouquets and also the table decorations. The table centrepieces were surrounded by floating candles and also had some candles hanging down from the flowers. For the table plan I loved the idea of writing on a mirror, so we bought a gorgeous white vintage style one and wrote the names on with glass pen. This was decorated with a gorgeous floral arrangement by Red Floral – to match the rest of our flowers. At the end of the dance floor we had massive light up letters with our new name ‘Mr & Mrs Evans’. These were provided by The Word is Love and they looked fantastic!
THE HONEYMOON | LUX* South Ari Atoll – The Maldives, The most beautiful place we have ever been. It was simply paradise! We stayed for a week in a Romantic Pool water villa which was the most amazing experience. We also had the chance to swim with whale sharks and sea turtles which was incredible.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | My most memorable moment has to be my groom’s speech. He is not usually one for romance but his speech was completely unexpected – reducing myself and most of the guests to tears! It contained some beautiful words and was extremely heartfelt – not at all what he had let on it was going to be like!
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Make sure you take some time out from the day to spend alone! The day passes so quickly that before you know it you have hardly seen your new husband. We took a walk in the beautiful gardens after our meal just the two of us to talk about the day so far. The love you feel for you husband on your wedding day is incredible so make sure you savour the moment together!
