{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

I love all things ‘wedding’ it is an occasion which is always happy and gifting is such a fun & exciting part of it! The only dislike is when a bride & groom don’t get everything on their list, although as part of our service the couple can move the monies around once their list is closed and allocate to different products ie. take the money from only one champagne glass that was bought to finish a set of dinner plates.

{w} How did you get into the wedding industry?

Amara is a successful online retailer and we were receiving requests from customers to hold a list service so we decided to create the Amara bridal registry last year. I oversee the pr here at Amara and was asked to head up the gift list service which I jumped at! (more…)

{w} Hi Katerina, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

I’m a designer and illustrator based in Hertfordshire. I have been creative for as long as I can remember. I’ve always drawn/painted/sewn and can’t imagine a life without creativity. Even the name of my company, stems from wanting to create something from a glut of rhubarb, I mixed it with vodka and sugar and taa-daa, Rhubka!

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

I am passionate about creating, so the fact that my job is designing and illustrating, well what’s not to like! I love helping people develop their thoughts into a visual. I love having artistic freedom, but mostly I love hearing the thrill in a client’s voice when they receive the finished piece.

Paper Themes. Bespoke Stationery: In The Hotseat ~ UK Wedding Blog ~ Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

Afternoon lovelies. If you are in the beginnings of planning your wedding, stationery is always something that needs to be chosen early on. It provides the perfect introduction to the feel and the excitement of your day.

So this afternoon i am thrilled to have the wonderful Paper Themes back to let us know exactly what they have been up to and to share some of their gorgeous designs. I just love their eclectic range, of which there is bound to be a design to  suit every kind of couple.

{w} Hi Paper Themes, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

Hi, we’re Paper Themes and this is actually the second time we’ve been here on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings. Last time we spoke was back in the summer of 2011.

For those of you who don’t know us already, we’re a wedding stationer based in West Yorkshire. We’ve been in the wedding industry for over 100 years now and we’ve seen a lot change (and a lot stay the same!) in that time.

{w} So what’s changed since last time you were here then? What can we expect in 2013 then?

A lot has changed since we last spoke. One area that’s really exploded in the past 12 months is demand for vintage wedding invitations, which we guess goes hand-in-hand with couple’s desire for vintage themed weddings! (Couples want vintage everything: dresses, venues, cars, even the photography.)

Aside from the vintage thing, what else are likely to see in 2013? Well, mint has been hugely popular in 2012 and demand doesn’t look like waning any time soon. The other big one is letterpress invitations. Again, there’s been a real resurgence in demand for letterpress prints and it’s easy to see why when you touch them. The quality really is second to none.

{w} Hi Yarwood-White, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

Yarwood-White was founded in 2003 by designer Clare Yarwood-White. Yarwood-White was sold in November 2012 to Kirsty Griffiths founder of Lily Bella – www.lilybella.co.uk. Yarwood-White re launched on the 28th January 2013.

We are more than just an internet shop.  We are a team of real people based in a beautiful studio in Beaconsfield, Bucks.  When you call us, there is a good chance you will speak to one of our jewellery designer/makers who can give you lots of advice and information before they produce the creation of your dreams by hand.

We design and make very beautiful wedding jewellery, and have a cupboard full of awards to show for it, which makes us very proud.  And we get very excited when celebrities like Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue wear our designs.

Samuel Docker Photography: In The Hotseat ~ UK Wedding Blog ~ Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

I must say the newest member of the Whimsical Wonderland Weddings family, brand new sponsor Samuel Docker Photography has me feeling pretty excited. His photography is fresh, modern and so very emotive.

Samuel Docker Photography is based in Derbyshire but is available to work throughout the UK and beyond. I just know you WWWers are going to love Sam and his gorgeous images.

{w} Hi Sam, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

I’m Sam, just about still in my twenties, I’m a very new and proud dad, and owner of far too many cameras and lenses!! I’m a huge MadMen and Boardwalk Empire fan, and I recently developed a slight man crush for Ryan Gosling (you’ll understand if you’ve seen Drive!)

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

The term “Dislike” doesn’t really feature in my job, I know it’s a cliché’d comment, but I do feel really lucky to be doing something that I absolutely love. Everything about meeting clients and talking about their wedding plans, creating concepts for new shoots and sitting down to edit a great wedding are just a few of the highlights besides actually shooting!!

{w} How did you get into photography and into the wedding industry?

Its taken 10 years of trying many different lines of work to discover what really makes me tick. I’ve been a draughtsman, studied creative design and owned a vintage clothing business, but I’d always had a huge passion for creative art and design, and a few years back I wasn’t getting that fix. This period of displeasure coincided with a couple of influencing moments; the first was the purchase of a Canon AE-1 35mm film camera, it was an impulsive purchase, but integral to the start of my new direction. The second was a trip to Stockholm (http://www.samueldocker.co.uk/stockholm/) with my fiancé. By the time we’d set off for Stockholm, I’d had plenty of practice with my new (but old) camera, I’d made plenty of mistakes, the highlight being not loading a roll of film correctly, I didn’t find this out though until I took it to the shop to be processed, my heart sank when I was told it was a blank film!! Stockholm changed everything though, I couldn’t put my camera down, much to my fiancés displeasure!! I’ve not really looked back since, I completely got the bug for it.
