Starstruck Designs ~ New {www} Sponsor ~ UK Wedding Blog ~ Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

Morning, i firstly apologise for the reduced blogging schedule I now have a chest infection and feeling a bit sorry for myself hehe!! Anyway i thought it was time to introduce you to another new member of the Whimsical Wonderland Weddings sponsor family. Today i introduce you to the brilliant Kerri, designer behind Starstruck Designs who creates beautiful bridal tiaras, bridal jewellery and accessories handmade in the UK.….

;

{w} Hi Kerrie, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

;

Hello! Well, I’m Kerri, I live with my husband, 2 children and 2 cats. I am a self confessed magpie, and love sparkle. I have a bit of a history of adding diamanté to anything I can, from clothes, to shoes, artwork on the walls of my living room – even some of my daughter’s cuddly toys have been sparklified!

;

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

;

I love… creating new designs, whether they have come from my own concepts, or from ideas presented by clients. Especially anything that is a little bit out of the ordinary (or completely off the scale!). I think that the best creative work comes from being challenged to produce something that is unexpected!

I dislike… paperwork, admin, accounts, being asked to copy designs that other people have worked hard to create, having only 24 hours in a day – there is simply never enough time!

;

{w} How did you get into the wedding industry?

;

I’ve always been very creative and had been asked to design some pieces for friends’ weddings. This was 10 years ago when a lot of businesses still weren’t embracing the internet, so online competition was quite minimal. A friend of mine suggested that I set up a website and get some photos of my work online to see if there would be any interest. Within 5 months I had expanded from 6 tiaras to over 100 pieces, and had a 4 month waiting list of orders! I still have a copy of the first cheque I ever received, framed on the wall of my office!

;

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

;

I really believe that each person I work with should be treated as an individual. No two weddings are the same, and that must be reflected in the way I work with clients. Ultimately, I want each of my brides to be wearing accessories that they have enjoyed choosing, and that they will want to wear again. I always aim to surpass the expectations of my clients if I can!

Afternoon lovelies :-) I am so thrilled to be introducing one of Whimsical Wonderland Weddings latest sponsors and family member, the amazing Emma from Beau Buttons.

I have actually met Emma before, who is a beautiful soul and a very talented lady. I actually featured her inspiration shoot earlier in the year too. Emma created the most amazing bespoke button bouquets, and having seen and held them in the flesh i can vouch for just how amazing they are.

They really are an heirloom piece which will just make your wedding day look. Anyway enough from me.….

{w} Hi Emma, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

Ok, a little bit about me… My name is Emma Lyth and I am the owner of beaubuttons.co.uk. I am a mother of two beautiful children (one pink one blue) and most recently a happy wife to my Canadian husband!

Beaubuttons is a bespoke service offering brides custom made bridal bouquets made from gorgeous vintage, handmade and modern buttons and brooches. All my bouquets are individual one-off designs that can be created in a variety of colour schemes or wedding themes and styles.

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

I love hearing the reaction of my brides once they have received their bouquets. It makes me smile so much to hear their excitement and I feel ever so proud that I have played a part in that.

I very much enjoy working closely with my brides (and sometimes grooms!) to see the first sparks of inspiration transform through the design process and into a beautiful product that will be with a bride on her wedding day.

Working for yourself inevitably involves a heavy work load and long hours, but when you’re doing something you genuinely love, it doesn’t matter at all.

{w} How did you get into the wedding industry?

I would say that I have always been involved in creative industries. With a background in Contemporary dance and costume construction I have always had a passion for creating things of beauty. However the moment I fell madly in love with the wedding industry was the moment I became engaged myself. Weddings are truly an addictive business!

I thought this morning i would start the day by introducing to the fantastic Big Little Things. Big Little Things is pretty much a one stop style shop for couples, with flowers, an award winning bakery,  stationery, gifts and accessories, all to help you in creating your wedding vision.

{w} Hi Big Little Things, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

We are Sarah and Fran who together are ‘Big Little Things’. We are a bespoke wedding and events service. We are quite a diverse ‘one stop shop’ if you will. Our main areas of expertise are couture wedding cakes, wedding flowers, bridal accessories and finishing touches. We primarily design and create one off pieces, although we do have an online shop too which offers unique and on trend items. We pride ourselves on our products being in the main handmade by us in our home county Shropshire, although we travel throughout the UK and further afield when needed. We like to keep made in the UK alive.

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

It’s a joy to be creative for a living and to be able to design and create someone’s perfect bouquet, ideal wedding cake or timeless accessories. It’s a very emotive occupation and you see things through the brides (and on occasion the grooms!) eyes. It’s sometimes hard to switch off! It’s hard to control when inspiration will present itself and waking up a 3am to sketch is not unknown. We both suffer with this and love and hate it in equal measures!

Britten Bags Wedding Accessories~ New {www} Sponsor ~ UK Wedding Blog ~ Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

Are you on the search for pretty and unusual accessories? Then i have the perfect person to introduce to you today, the fabulous Sarah from Britten Bags. Sarah designs the most exquisite handbags and has now moved into creating stunning wedding accessories.… i am lusting over that fan above.… wow! Take it away Sarah.…

{w} Hi Sarah, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

Britten is my little business, an online wedding accessories boutique. I design and make vintage inspired goodies from peacock feather fans to hair combs to buttonholes. I believe you should only own things you want to cherish forever and hate the idea of mass produced items.

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

One of my favourite things about Britten is when I get to work with brides/ grooms to create a custom accessory totally unique to them. There is nothing I dislike about making wedding accessories.

{w} How did you get into fashion and into the wedding industry?

I studied accessory design at London College of Fashion but only got into Wedding accessories last year through my own wedding. Our theme was 1920s so we included lots of peacock feathers. I started off thinking about designing a bouquet with flowers and feathers but decided I didn’t want something such a big part of the day to die so quickly. I designed ‘bouquet’ accessories (for me and my beautiful ladies) that would last forever. I had so many lovely comments about our feather fans that I decided to add them to my boutique. Since then I have fallen in love with all things wedding and want to focus on bridal accessories.

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

I want my brides and grooms to end up with accessories that they will not only love on their wedding day but that they will cherish forever and want to pass on to their children.

{w} What style is your work?

Britten is about glamorous, elegant and vintage style accessories.

{w} Could you tell us some information about your prices?

Britten’s prices currently range from £15 for a pearl garter to £88 for a feather fan. I add new products all the time.

{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their suppliers?

Make sure your suppliers make you feel that your day is the most important wedding they have ever worked on!

{w] Any other tips on preparing for a wedding?

You don’t always have to focus your efforts on the dress. I’m an accessory girl (as you may have guessed!) so I decided what accessories I wanted and then found the dress and shoes to match.

{w} How can we get in touch with you?

You can email me on sarah@britten-bags.co.uk I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks so much Sarah, it’s been great getting to know you and your fabulous company even more :-) Do check out Sarah’s amazing site and get browsing ;-) xoxo
