I do love a veil. They are so dreamy, whimsical and ethereal. They can really turn a wedding look into something really very special and timeless. Plus they are so flexible, add a veil to wear during the ceremony and whip off for the party or swap to something short, sweet and easy to dance in. In fact, I love all of the bridal accessories offered by the exquisite Britten Weddings.
Britten sells finely crafted luxury bridal accessories all over the world through their e boutique. Specialising in veils, all kinds of headwear, belts and bridal jewellery as well as a new collection of bridal scents. All of their pieces are handmade their studio boutique in the ancient town of Bradford on Avon. You can be assured that your piece from Britten will have heirloom quality and you’ll just find it too hard to choose one accessory.
I mean, their hair vines are so delicate and pretty, the bridal belts just perfect for adding a splash of sparkle and their heavenly scents will transport you back to your wedding day in an instant. They have a jewellery range too, plus cute bridesmaid gifts to ensure your fave girls are spoilt too.
Last winter Britten curated this fabulous new imagery to show off some of their new designs so they teamed up with the fabulous Gooch & Gawler to create something rather lovely. Hair and make up was by Elbie Van Eeden and the dresses were very kindly loaned from Jesus Peiro and Katya Katya Shehurina. The main focus of the shoot was on their new veils. Since they launched their veil collection in April 2015 Britten have sold hundreds of veils and are always adding new designs inspired by their brides.
Since the launch of their first collection they have introduced a silk style tulle, which drapes and falls like silk without the hefty price tag. It works beautifully with slim fitting dress and their single tier silk style veil Isabella is a firm favourite with their brides – see their real bride blog.
The lace collection has grown significantly and they have introduced quite a few more two tiered lace edged options. I really love the Lucia veil, a lace edged two tier veil with cut edge blusher.
The Ada veil is another firm favourite with brides as the lace tends to compliment most dresses without detracting.
Britten wanted to show brides how they could style veils with headpieces. One of my favourite looks is a hair vine, such as Elvie pinned over the comb of the veil.
The mini Avani gold leaf vine also looks fabulous pinned over our Skylar barely there veil.
You can also pin a shorter vine to the side of a veil, the Grace vine looks lovely pinned to the side of the Luisa veil.
Vines worn to the front of the head also work really well with veils especially drop veils. I love the look of the blossom vine with the Aspen silk style drop veil.
Another addition to the collection is the flexible vines like Lily, they can be worn to the front of the head or woven through plaits and braids.
My new personal favourite is the Dot veil – a single tier cut edge veil made from polka dot tulle!
Britten also edge this polka dot tulle in their French eyelash lace in the Amie drop veil.
If you are interested in buying a veil from Britten they recommend you buy their tulle and lace samples to compare to your dress before purchasing. The tulle samples come in traditional (a little more body and volume) and silk style (super soft with no volume at all) just match to the closest tone of your dress, it doesn’t need to be an exact match! You can also buy their lace samples, again it doesn’t need to be an exact match with your dress, they just need to compliment each other.
For more information they have compiled a complete guide to veils and are always happy to help!
Finally they have many different veil storage options available to help keep your veil safe before and after the wedding!
Plus Britten are also thrilled to have been nominated in the 2017 UK Wedding Awards! How amazing is that? Congratulations to the whole team at Britten.
