There was something so special about this wedding day. Smiles all round, a lot of love and a simple low key feeling.
Naomi and Oliver tied the knot on the 11th July 2015 at Camden Town Hall followed by a good old knees up at The Artisan of Clerkenwell. They wanted to focus on a relaxed and fun atmosphere with a party vibe for everyone attending.
Let me just begin with Naomi’s gorgeous bridal look. She chose to wear a boho beautiful Minna dress and hairpiece which looked stunning. Oliver meanwhile plumped for a blue Paul Smith suit and polka dot tie, very sharp indeed. The florals really brought the day together in their natural and wild style, teamed with a cake table and rustic touches; the venue looked amazing.

THE PROPOSAL | On the South bank in London. As with everything that represents us as a couple it was informal but wonderful.
THE VISION | We wanted a low key informal wedding. We’d been together for over 10 years so it was about having a party and celebrating with our closest family and friends. We knew we wanted a London wedding which why we chose our venues. We also wanted to be able to walk between the ceremony and the reception venue. The whole day was about having fun and making all our guests feel relaxed.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | The planning was done mostly by ourselves. It was a relatively small wedding and so it wasn’t particularly stressful. Partially because everyone we worked with was as relaxed as us!! It was a very much a DIY affair!
BUDGET | Low!! Weddings do not need to break the bank!!
THE VENUE | Camden Town Hall and The Artisan of Clerkenwell.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Dress and hand piece by Minna.
FINDING THE DRESS | I wanted something vintage in style and casual which suited my personality but also something that was feminine. After doing a lot of internet research I came across Minna Bridal in London who were perfect and exactly what I was looking for.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Paul Smith.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | We had one poem at the ceremony, which was:
A Vow by Wendy Cope
I cannot promise never to be angry;
I cannot promise always to be kind.
You know what you are taking on, my darling –
It’s only at the start that love is blind.
And yet I’m still the one you want to be with
And you’re the one for me – of that I’m sure.
You are my closest friend, my favourite person,
The lover and the home I’ve waited for.
I cannot promise that I will deserve you
From this day on. I hope to pass that test.
I love you and I want to make you happy.
I promise I will do my very best.
We didn’t really have any music at the ceremony apart from when we signed the register and one of the songs we used was Etta James, At Last. Oliver was in charge of the music for the dancing. He did an amazing play list covering all our favourites including a lot of soul music, it got everyone dancing and enjoying themselves.
THE FLOWERS | I wanted the flowers to be low key and informal like the rest of the day. The flowers were done by Flowerescent. I’d collected jam jars for months, which were used instead of vases. I’d decorated them with twine.
THE CAKE | We didn’t have a formal wedding cake, but instead asked our wedding guests to bake something.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The fantastic Mairead Mcdaid, she understood our visual from day one. The photos are wonderful and she was a pleasure to work with, making everything wonderfully easy.
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | All the wedding invites and table plans were designed and screen printed by myself. (I’m a ceramic designer) As mentioned I’d been collecting jam jars for months these were used for the flowers but also for lots and lots of tea lights. We also had some bunting. The Artisan of Clerkenwell was already a beautiful venue and so we didn’t need to add much more.
THE HONEYMOON | 2 weeks in Italy.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Everything. The day was perfect and exactly what we had hoped for.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Remember what is most important and enjoy yourself, its your day after all.
