Maria and Paul had a pretty and pink wedding in the summer. On a beautiful sun shining day they had a Church wedding ceremony followed by a marquee reception. I so love the open sides of their pretty marquee which they decorated in a village fete feel.
Maria looked elegant in Mori Lee with a lace edged veil while Paul looked dashing in a blue suit by Reiss. So much style, so much happiness.
Thanks so much to Photography by Vicki for sharing her delightful images with us today.
The Proposal… Totally taken by surprise in our living room! I was returning home from the gym (not looking my best I might add) Saturday 23rd February 2013 to find our living room covered in roses and candles with Paul down on one knee.
The Vision for the Day… We wanted to celebrate with as many friends and family as possible relaxed and chilled by day and party party party by night.
The Planning Process… Google became my best friend!
The Venue… The Bickley, with a marquee in the garden.
The Dress… Mori Lee
Finding the Dress… I tried on quite a lot of dresses none of which were me and I started to think this is going to take longer than I thought and then the sales assistant suggested trying on a style totally different and that was it, chosen on the first shopping trip.
Groom’s Attire… Suit and shoes from Reiss, shirt TM Lewin, Tie Prada.
The Readings + Music… Entering and leaving the church we choose the traditional wedding march. We picked two hymn’s ‘Colours of day’ and ‘give me oil’. Paul’s cousin James read Colossians 3.12-17 and my Auntie Debs wrote a beautiful poem. Our first dance was Stephanie Mills, Never knew love like this before.
Beautiful Bridesmaids… were my two sisters, my best friend, and my mother’s god daughter, they wore dresses from Dorothy Perkins, shoes from Elegant Shoes, accessories from NEXT and Fraser Hart and our flowergirl was our niece who’s dress was from John Lewis, shoes from Elegant shoes, and accessories from Lily Belle.
The Flowers… we worked with a family friend, and our flowers were gorgeous. We collected bottles and jars for our centre pieces and we had flower balls hanging from the chandlers in the marquee, I wanted all different types of flowers in light pastel colours, to create a countryside feeling…. the bouquets were beautiful and Katie even made me a dummy one so that it was the right size as I was worried about having a bouquets that looked too big for me.
The Cake… our cake was AMAZING, I wanted something big and for it to stand out and that’s what we got. I found an image on google and Carla who was brilliant from start to finish made our cake which was delicious!
Your Photographer… Also AMAZING! It was really good getting to do engagement pictures, not only did we get some great snaps we also got to know vicki which made so easy and comfortable on the day, our photos are fantastic
The Details + Decor… Village fete theme! Bunting and handmade cushions made by my mum to decorate the large wooden garden furniture. Personalised wooden signs to direct guests to the party….Pink and white sweetie table, ivory royal mail post box.
The Honeymoon… We flew to Spain to visit family a few days after the wedding, we had booked this in January before we got engaged so kept these plans and we hope to travel somewhere further afield next March 2014.
Memorable Moments… all of it! Loved loved loved the whole day, wish we could do it all again!
Advice for Other Couples… enjoy every moment and don’t worry.
