This morning we are going global. UK based wedding planner Jane from Planned for Perfection headed to Australia for a wedding and decided to create a UK/Australian inspiration shoot whilst she was there.
I so love the Sydney backdrop, the beautiful blooms and the stunning afternoon tea table. Thanks so much to Jonathan David Photography for sharing his photographs and to Planned for Perfection for sending this shoot to WWW, here is what Jane had to say about the shoot;
“Working with lots of brides and grooms from overseas, when I visited Sydney earlier this year for my first Australian wedding, I took the opportunity to introduce my Australian contacts to those UK couples wanting to get married in Australia and introduce Planned for Perfection, my award winning wedding planning company, to Australian couples wanting to get married the UK or abroad.
Despite the aggression on the rugby field and cricket pitch, the long distance love between the Australians and the British is thriving, as is the amount of UK /Australian couples finding love and tying the knot! Australia offers a huge array of choices when it comes to planning your overseas wedding, from the breath-taking landmarks of Sydney or the sunny beaches of Queensland to the rugged outback, many couples choose to marry there after discovering the romance and magic of the Land Down Under. Others decide to marry here in the UK, with an enviable choice of historic wedding venues; castles, stately homes, manor houses and beautiful country house hotels and whichever location you choose, Planned for Perfection can help ensure your perfect day!
Everyone knows how much us Brits love a “cuppa tea” and it appears, so do alot of Australians – Morning Tea, High Tea, Cream Tea & Afternoon Tea are extremely popular Down Under with the English tradition of finger sandwiches, scones & cakes served on vintage china, a real hit in the Southern Hemisphere. So, I decided to invite a hand picked selection of Australian wedding suppliers to “A Planned for Perfection Afternoon Tea” arranging a photo shoot, which combined the love of the Australian out-doors and iconic Sydney landmarks, with a quintessential English afternoon tea…”
“Before leaving the UK, I worked with Steve, an experienced designer & owner of Award Winning Wedding Stationery Company, Archibald Edwards to create some beautiful designs for the shoot. I also spoke to Kelly from Sweet Janes travelling Tea house who provided an engagement party afternoon tea for a Planned for Perfection couple in Sydney earlier in the year. Sweet Janes is an adorable pink Travelling Teahouse, who has a reputation for serving the best mobile High Tea in Sydney! Sweet Janes owner Kelly introduced to the incredibly talented Jennie from Merci Bouquet florist who provided both an English country garden & traditional Australian bouquet for the shoot.
Unfortunately, the weather forecast upon arrival Down Under for the day was, dare I say, typically English! We set up at a beautiful park in Balmain, New South Wales, near the wharf with views of Sydney harbour in the distance and along with a selection of beautiful dresses from Helen Rodrigues Bridal wear, an amazing cake from Amy Rathborne Artisan Cakes and with the help of our gorgeous couple, Dylan and Lauren, we set the scene of “An afternoon tea party in Sydney” captured on camera by the very talented Jonathan from Jonathan David Photography.”
“With rain clouds looming ever closer, we were lucky enough to take some fabulous pictures before the heavens opened and I was accused of bring the English weather with me! Not just afew drops or a light shower, I hasten to add… the sky turned black and we had a terrible storm that drenched the table …and us! Luckily, as with any Planned for Perfection wedding, there’s always a wet weather plan! So, armed with umbrellas, we packed up and headed to Wash bay in the City for some undercover dockside / pier photographs.
The next few hours were spent dodging the storms at the pier before moving on to our next location, Blues Point which is well known for stunning views over the city of Sydney. I had arranged for Stuart from London Black Cab Company to meet us there, his black cabs are an extremely popular choice for wedding cars in Sydney, with both English and Australian couples loving their quirkiness for their wedding day transport!
As you can see from the stunning photographs, as if by magic the beautiful Aussie weather exceeded itself at the end of the day, allowing Jonathan to take some more wonderful pictures, this time of the harbour bridge and the Opera house framing the Black Cabs…a fabulous Oz / Pom combination and the perfect end to a wonderful day!”
“I would like to say a massive thank you to the following suppliers for all their support:”
Just stunning, i soooo adore this shoot.
Thanks so much to everyone involved for letting me share this on WWW today XOXO Lou
