A Homemade Laid Back Wedding in Arkansas

Happy international Saturday lovelies! I have the sweetest wedding to share with you all today.

Karis and Josiah had a homemade, homey, laid back wedding using muted tones in Arkansas, USA. I love the old fashioned feel the day which felt so personal due to all the DIY the couple did to make the day their own. Gorgeous.

Thanks so much to The Photo Love Photography for sharing their images with us today.

How you met… Josiah and I met through a mutual friend at college.

The Venue… Ceremony location: Thorncrown Chapel, Eureka Springs, AR. Reception location: Castle Rogue’s Manor, Beaver, AR.

Vision for the day… We just wanted a laid-back, stress free wedding. We wanted less of a party and more of a family gathering. A gathering filled with family and friends that wanted to share in our joy on that day. I didn’t want to choose colors or a theme that was too trendy. We chose a neutral color theme of grey, browns, and creams. The overall theme we wanted was handmade, homey, vintage, and romantic.

Details & decor… Bride’s Bouquet: handmade from Etsy, Men’s Boutineers: handmade by mother of bride,Origami birds: handmade by the bride, Napkin Rings: handmade by mother of bride, Pie Topper Banner: handmade by bride, Cake Topper flower: handmade by mother of bride, Mr & Mrs Banner: handmade by bride, Dress: handmade (with pieces of mother’s wedding dress) from Etsy, Bride’s Shoes: Vintage, Stationery Designer: Designed by the bride, Flowers / Centerpieces / Tableware: handmade centerpieces by bride and her mother, Jewelry worn: Vintage pearls, Bride’s wrist cuffs: handmade from Etsy.

Memorable moments… The day before the wedding had a lot of hiccups, but our wedding day was perfect. It was fun and joyful and just wonderful. The only mishap I can remember is that our DJ had some technical issues with the music for a bit at the beginning of the reception.
