Are you ready for a large dose of whimsical romance? As i sure am :-)

Renza from Delicieux Cakes got in touch to share with me this beautiful shoot she organised, with a mermaid princess as the inspiration behind it. Together with some amazing wedding industry professionals they created a whimsy, magical wedding inspiration shoot. With incredible cakes, fashion, flowers this shoot is bursting with gorgeous ideas.

Thanks so much to Heline Bekker Photography for sharing her images with us today. Here is what Renza told me about the shoot;

“The romantic fairy tale of a long haired mermaid princess abandoning her life in the sea kingdom for the love of a handsome sailor inspired me to create this shoot. The fabulous Gallivant Hotel opposite a stretch of sandy beach was the perfect setting.

I knew Heline Bekker Photography would be perfect. Heline’s unique style, capturing natural light, fine details and her love for nature added fantastic detail to the images.

Fashion Designer, Charlotte of Wilden Brides created magic with her bespoke whimsical dresses splashed with fine detail. Glittery sequins, coral, vintage lace, pearls and texturised sea-flowers were featured.

HT Headwear adorns the princess with fabulous headwear. From a glittery diamond crown to ‘fishnet’ intertwined with pearls and seaweed. See the beaded silver octopus on one of the designs.

Every girl needs a pair of shoes especially if it’s your first pair! Marsha Hall designed a bespoke pair for our mermaid princess made with rusty looking gold leather. She added delicate mother of pearl clips to complete the ethereal look.

She was spoilt with handmade jewellery from Made by Shetland. The sea is Esme’s inspiration. Sea sand and shells are the moulds for her designs with touches of fantasy such as golden crab claws, luscious pearls and mother of pearl shards.

Vintage Floral Design Co added her distinctive touch -a giant seashell filled with tiny orchids, a pretty seashell heart shaped bouquet and a loose wild flower bunch for our bride to be.

Gypsophila balls, devil’s claws and tiny pots of greenery infused life into my Delicieux dessert table. I aimed for a fresh early-in-the-morning sea-breeze feel with stylish cutlery and crockery from Couvert complementing the look. The cake was inspired by all the creative elements from the collaborators: a headband from HT; crab claws by Esme; Charlotte’s decadent splashes found in her dresses; shoes clips by Marsha; gypsophilia and shells used in Gwenda’s flower pieces.

The same principle is used when Delicieux designs a cake or a dessert table for a special occasions. It’s bespoke and specific to every event, client and budget. Passion for food and years of experience in catering ensure dessert tables with a twist.

Sjaniel interpreted the mermaid princess look to the last tick with her professional makeup and hair skills, adapting without effort for the different scenes.
